windows XP wifi

    Hi
    Can someone talk me thru finding the wifi on my old dell inspiring 6000 something happened so I reloaded a fresh copy of windows from a recovery disc I had all looks good butcant find wifi access or set up even connected by Ethernet it says connected in settings tab but cant launch internet explorer? ? Any help? Maybe need new drivers ?

    You may need driver yeah.

    There may be more than 1 wifi card option. Look in DeviceManager, other/unrecognized devices,properties,hardwareID. That gives a Vendor and Device ID, each are 4 chars 0-9/A-F, e.g. like 09B3. Search for that at pcidatabase.com, that will identify the one you have
