Kylemore is north of the Twelve Pins, Ballynahinch is south. They look similar alright!

They are different places. Kylemore abbey has been run by Benedictine nuns since their establishment in 1920, previously was built by Mitchell Henry as a token of love for his wife. Ballynahinch Castle is now a luxury hotel and was previously the mansion of Richard Martin, also known as "Humanity Dick", whose family ruled over Connemara for many years.

There's a series on TG4 at the moment "Cé a Chonaigh i mo Theachsa" (Who lived in my house".

It was about Ballynahinch recently - you'd probably find it on the player.

    Was very interesting!

Thanks all, so kylemore abbey is not a hotel at all, correct ? Or there is no hotel on the kylemore abbey grounds ?

No, definitely Kylemore abbey isn't a hotel, not sure if the nuns still use it as a very exclusive college for girls.
There are no hotels on the grounds, but nearby there are a few B&B, like for instance Kylemore house (kylemorehouse.net) or Kylemore lodge (kylemorelodge.com) overlooking the Kylemore lake.
