Some serious quality games to watch this week

  • Registered Users Posts: 981 ✭✭✭Lionbacker

The Lions are going to be playing their 75th Thanksgiving day game on Thursday against the Bears. Must be one the longest traditions in the NFL.
They decided to create a new logo to commemorate the annual event. Generally speaking, the logo in the centre is an update on the Lions logo from the 1950's.

For a second I thought the lion was being taken advantage of.

Don't worry though, that's unlikely Thursday.

@AdamSchefter: "Washington is planning to start Colt McCoy over Robert Griffin III on Sunday at Indianapolis, per a team source.... http://t.co/o0WZcOitBr"

    Wow, Jay Gruden's an idiot.

Matthew Berry has a good rant on it: https://twitter.com/matthewberrytmr

Well last year all the games on Thanksgiving were available on gamepass, so I assume that's still the situation.

Thanksgiving games aren’t marked blacked out as yet. And the Sunday games are. Be delighted if that sticks.

    Great weekend of games.

Hopefully Lions offense will start clicking this week. It's been very frustrating all season and all the drops last week was very reminiscent of last season's collapse. So c'mon Lions torch that Bears secondary!

Cutler won't throw INTs on screens so lets do that all game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

That was pretty easy for the Bears.

absolutely ****e tackling from the lions d

Chris Conte needs to retire for his own sake. He has suffered/been evaluated for concussion in-game at least 5 times this season now.

I actually think the Lions are worse than the Bears in their ability to go absolutely awful in big games. However they also have a tendency to turn it on in the 4th quarter and make spectacular plays which tends to camouflage for them being terrible for more than half the game. That won't always work and they need to start turning in complete performances to do real damage.

Ffs why another little dunk to forte when you have eighteen yards to make up? All year we've seen that kind of play calling.

Missed the first half, another sterling effort by our defense I see, held them to 24.

They started ok actually and got agood turnover. Johnson, basically, is the problem. Fuller is sticking to him but what can you do, a rookie against him?

Oh and conte is injured *again* so vereen is in, so it's all rookie coverage.

Alright bears, change some things up. They figured us out after a couple of drives in the last half and the fear I'd have, from experience, is that we have no other plan. That's how it's looking.

Was ok from Cutler. Seems like Bushrod is having trouble at LT there.

Yeah that was a pretty good drive in fairness, maybe ishould calm down, but the second quarter had melt down written all over it. Funny enough a short pass on third and three there would have gotten a first down that would have put us in a dangerous position.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,306 ✭✭✭padraig_f

So that's what a defensive 3-and-out looks like.

As someone has pointed out, Cutler can't (probably) throw and INT on a screen

    Awful call.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,967 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Tight call there and with it being the end of the quarter the Lions have plenty of time to review it. It was very close if not a td. I wouldn't criticise the official there, looked like it didn't get across on the first effort.
