    ...for those of you who may not have heard of this feat, Simon Byrne is attempting to bag all the Vandeleur-Lynam and Arderin summits in 1 year, a total of 454 peaks. He has 50 or so left and for anyone who wants to join him in this venture, his last is Mullaghcarn in the Sperrins on the 27th December. So far 9 of his outings this year have incorporated treks of 40km plus, and 13 have exceeded 2,000m ascent.

    For those that may have interest. Mountain Views.ie Talks and Awards will take place on Friday, 20th February in the Lansdowne Hotel. 7:30pm. The main speaker will be Helen Fairbairn. Helen has published many books on walking in Ireland with photos from her husband the photographer Gareth McCormack. There will be a talks from MV members such as Simon Byrne. There is an entry fee of around 5 Euro.
