Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Smileys not showing on received messages in IOS8

    Hi All

    I updated to IOS8 from IOS7 which was JB. Now when I receive a SMS from non iphone it just shows the following as smileys, iphone messages are fine.


    : ) : * ; ) , etc


    Any ideas ?

    You might need to re enable the emoj keyboard in settings.

    Typed emoticons are not converted to emoji.

    The thing is all earlier messages had the emoticons showing. Then when I restored from the backup they not showing now.

    It's nothing major but just annoying :(

    They may only show up in iMessages from iOS device to another?

    I know that iMessage only works from IOS to IOS.
    These are non IOS messages that causing the issue :(

    Emojis dont send in normal SMS messages?

    I dont recall ever receiving emoji from non iphones to my iphone. Always displays as text emoticons. I can only get emoji from iOS devices thru the messenger app. Whatsapp and Viber etc are another story.

    I think the problem may be the senders device. It's a HTC one and I read on android forums about emoticons issue with latest software update.
    Damn android :D
