Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi guys, some of you LOI heads might have seen some of my prints floating around the internet over the last few months.

But, if you have no clue what I'm on about I'll post some examples below.

I've been doing a print series pertaining to club legends within the LOI, I'm making this thread in the hope that it could generate some discussion as regards your opinions on club legends, which will help me gauge who deserves to be included in the series, as well as which clubs they represent best. It dosen't have to be the best player to ever play for the club, just someone who became a cult legend, in the case of Paddy McCourt, or tremendous servants to the club, the below gents being prime examples.

I'm open to opinions regarding each and every club, and any help is much appreciated. If you want to see more of the stuff, just check out my signature or drop a PM my way. Thanks!

That's the general consensus I've gotten from all at Bray so far, both are held in very high regard.

Speaking of bray, I've no clue where Jason Byrne should go? I've already done a Kevin Hunt for Bohs, and they'd also have someone like Owen Heary, but he and Byrne could also be decent shouts for Shelbourne..

I know personally Id be able to pick out Tarzan quicker anyway, right from a young age he has been Bray Wanderers.

Do Byrne at multiple clubs, only way. What a man!

Cahill was decent but hardly a legend

As far as legends for Derry go I'd have Liam Coyle over Paddy McCourt any day.

Jackie Jameson would have been a good shout for Bohs, but I don't think many would argue with Kevin.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

I wouldn't do Heary for Bohs tbh. Bit of a touchy subject. Jackie definitely!

    Agreed. Heary is Shels.

Hunt, Jameson, Toccy would be the most suitable for Bohs I reckon.

For Sligo Rovers, Dixie Dean, Fago, Joseph Ndo Pascal Millien and Ciaran Kelly. All club legends for different reasons.

Don't know how you can include Pascal with the likes of Dixie Dean and Joseph et al and leave out David Pugh, Johnny Brookes, Gerry Mitchell, Mick Leonard, "Ski" McGee etc

Pascal coming on against Shels and having us all believing we unearthed a future star for a while will always be one of my favourite Rovers memories. It was a fantastic day. The Showgrounds was rocking.

Pascals a bigger legend than any of them. Mick Leonard never did a backflip.

Thanks guys all of this info helps a lot!

In case anyone's wondering, here's a full list of what I've done so far..

    Bohs - Kevin Hunt
    Cork City - John Caulfield
    Derry City - Paddy McCourt
    Dundalk - Tommy McConville
    Finn Harps - Jim Sheridan
    Galway Utd - Eamonn Deacy
    Longford Town - Alan Kirby
    Shamrock Rovers - Gary Twigg
    Sligo - Joseph Ndo
    St. Pat's - Paul Osam

I'm sure people will disagree with some choices, but I plan on doing 2nd, and possibly 3rd prints for certain clubs where applicable.

Owen Heary for Shels looks like what I'll get cracking on next.

You probably won't get many responses from UCD fans :pac:

Don't think I'd be in a position to inform you having only supported them for a few years, but I'll get onto the head of the supporters club to see if he has any suggestions and photos.

I have an online shop, you can find the link to it on my website which is in my signature. I'd link it directly here, but I'd guess that might be frowned upon with the mods.

Drop me a PM if you have any questions :)
