Hi was looking at getting TV under €450.

    Was looking at the

    http://m.richersounds.com/#!/product/SAMS-UE40H5500

    Or the

    http://m.richersounds.com/#!/product/LG-42LB580V

Would you recommend one over the other?
    Hi Skydisk79.

I think the Samsung pips the LG on picture quality and the Smart features are much easier to navigate and includes more content via its Apps.
The sound on the Samsung is a little under par but that is expected from all flat screen TV's now a days.

The LG is listed on our website as an in store only purchase at 439.00 Euro.

The 40H5500 is priced up at 454.99 Euro (Inc Delivery)

Can you still honour the price below from two weeks ago? (and does it still include free Dublin delivery and the 5 year warranty?) Thanks!

    Hi Bluehair.

As far as I can tell they only offer a 1 year warranty with their TV. We offer a 5 year on all our TV's as part of our VIP CLUB offer. (All is required is a valid email address.

For our price beat it must include like for like deal.

Does the current model samsungs still  have the panel lottery like the eh5000 series. If so I would avoid the Samsung OP as you can get a greatly inferior one then some reviews

    Hi Anonyyanony.

We have not been made aware of this issue from Samsung but I do see people mentioning it on AV forums etc...

I suppose its like everything in the world, someone will always find a fault and pop it on the internet.

Going on the information I'm reading we would need to open each screen and check the rear bar code or under the grille? Seems people are not even sure where they should be looking for this marking.
I have also seen someone post up an email they got direct from Samsung on the issue saying there was no issue.

Anyways, Ive not had a customer return one because they were not happy with the screen.

So they are still at, they have been for years, I had a eh5000 from them that used a sharp panel that was vastly poorer the the samsung panel cause purple streaks this was in all models of that samsung with sharp panels

The hassle I had to get it returned as as you say samsung say it's not an issue was too much and advise anyone not to buy a Samsung unless the store make sure you are getting a TV with a samsung panel.

OP I would go LG just for that fact, samsungs with samsung panels are great but if you end up losing the lottery you have a pretty poor tv.

    Braddun,

many thanks for your input - the current Richer UK price is actually identical to the Richer Ireland price at £369.95 - we always price match the main UK site for our Irish Customers - the Euro price is currently  €484.99 but that includes delivery anywhere in Ireland and a 5 year warranty,

    Thanks anyway for your input,

    Best regards,

    John Mc & Crew

    Apologies for the delay,

the price on the 40H5500 is now €484.99 and at the moment as stock is tight we are not shipping this model.

The 'Computerparts' 40H5500 is actually a different model to the standard UK/Ireland model and does not have the freeview HD / Saorview HD tuner on board -its a DVB-T model as opposed to the DVB-T2 tuner which is the standard for Freeview HD & Saorview HD - these are items imported from Europe.

Apologies again for the delay getting back to you,

    ATVB,

    John Mc & Crew

    Hi Bluehair.

John has had a lot on lately so apologies for the little bit of conflicting info.

If you want one of these screen at the 484.99 Euro I can have one shipped. At this point delivery would be after Christmas as we have no stock here in the Belfast store and it would need to be shipped direct from our warehouse in Manchester. Stock is tight as mentioned above.

I would need to confirm a delivery date for you.

If you would like to go for one let me know.
