Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

33% is not a bad showing. Considering it was probably Ireland Vs the World. (Real Fan boy in Asia etc)

    Deutschland über alles in Zürich.

Pity but hopefully she gets a good deal with some club somewhere.

Is she not back from France, heard she didn't settle over there!

Rodriguez would have his fanboys but I would be pretty sure that the vast majority of women who voted would have voted for Roche.

I think it's fair enough really.

It was a stunning goal but part of the award is the situation it's scored in.

It's baffled me how Van Persie's goal was in the top 10, never mind the top 3.

    Novelty rather than quality.

Roche doesn't win, followed by that smug git Thierry Henry on stage now. Ultimate kick in the teeth from Sepp Blatter! :D

Yeah she didn't settle there. She might have settled better without this Puskas thing coz she has had better offers come in for her.

No way in heck Messi and Neuer should have been that close.

    Thoroughly deserved by Ronnie.

When Steph Roche enters the building....

    Messi almost gets messy
Ronaldo goes from CR7 to CRLegs

She would have won if somebody had a 1080p vid of it. Let down by the supporters IMO.

Let's remember her for her goal not the pic.

At the end the best goal won which is the right thing.

Didn't like all this mass voting thing just because she was Irish.

Great achievement to make the list alone never mind the top 3.

She'll probably fade into oblivion now.

But it wasnt Ireland v the world. Its not like the eurovision, that goal was there on merit. I'm sure plenty of people the world over voted for her.

Watched the Revista Balon D'or special for about 10 seconds there only to remember Graham Hunter said Barca might finish 4th last week
    What a plank

David Luiz in the World Team of the Year?

    Where is Godin?

Putting Luiz in the World Team of the Year would be like putting Titus Bramble in the Premier League Team of the Year

Mendieta and Scott Minto on Revista feel Stephanie should have won goal of the year.

He's just buttering him up so he can sign him for England.

Ronaldo voted for Sergio Ramos player of the year.
He must be having a laugh.
With Bale second, fair enough, but Benzema 3rd???
If you are going to vote for your team mates, why not Di maria?? Must be because he left.

Other than Ramos, I havent seen too many odd votes.

Tihiti media went for Pogba first.
Columbian media went for Schweinsteiger first, James third. Strange one...
A few gave it to Courtois.
Iniesta got a few first votes too, although a quality player. It wasnt a good year for him.

No players from Ath. Madrid ?

    Good luck.

fair result - super goal , but opposition should be considered - I know i scored my best goals when no one was looking , but to do it in high pressure games different matter - Super goal , but i think we got a little carried away , cause she was Irish - wish her well

    Hodgson voted Mascherano #1 :pac:

    Lahm # 2 and Neuer # 3

I presume he thought it was just a vote for World Cup only?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,363 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

RVP went Robben, Ibra and Neuer.

I don't understand not having either of the obvious top 2 at all.

If he's really good friends with those 3 lads and dislikes Messi/ronaldo I don't think it's at all surprising he wouldn't vote for them. I wouldn't.

    The best goal won.

A lot of people vote for who they think is underappreciated as the 2 guys are gonna be 1 and 2 clearly.

I can see that being true and its a poor excuse. It's a vote for the best player not the most underappreciated. People should vote for who they think is the best. It devalues it a it.
There also seems to be a lot of voting for mates and teammates which while understandable is not helpful.
If all voters took that logic it could be a farce.

She can fade in to my bed with the way she was looking tonight. I'll give her my Puskas.

    Hodgson voted Mascherano #1 :pac:

Actually I think Mascherano should have been on team of the year.
He was voted Barca player of the year and he was the guy that dragged Argentina to WC final.

Then to see luiz in the team is a bloody joke.

I am not allowed discuss …

Neuer would be playing centre back instead anyway
Loew shouldn`t have gotten Manager of the Year either thought he was very lucky at the World Cup tbh

Yea it would be hard to Vote for Costa after the world cup tho. Godin would have got my no.3. Best defender by a distance.
    Costa's goal was my fav.

And I do love the goal he got v Milan

Just for how unorthodox it was

Still miffed that Stephanie Roche didn't win the Puskas Award yesterday

I was getting ready for "You'll never beat the Irish"

Rodriguez's goal wasn't even the best in the World Cup

I'd agree, I thought the technique for Cahill's was better! Watching the ball drop over your shoulder and then connecting perfectly with your weaker foot, class finish!

When I first saw the nominees I thought the top 3 would be Ibra, Kasami and Roche!
