Just noticed a new bolder design of on screen graphics for RTE News Now.

Probably the biggest change yet. It's an improvement imo, although it would be nice to see this at the higher "full" SD resolution as it was a few weeks ago on the test channel

it would be nice if they narrowed the side bar and tne ticker on the bottom of the screen and maybe show more news related items and cut down on the news repeats.

About time. Only took them 7 months!!!!

It's fresh for sure. Would be nice to see some video in the sidebar. Why they can't keep the clock on screen full time is beyond me - it's a flipper with weather info. With all that space they could easily have both.

I would prefer they went full screen with the video.

If they cannot, at least when the are re-broadcasting a video that has a ticker-tape, they remove it or go full screen for that video.

    They need higher resolution.

It's good to see the change but it only means they have no intention of providing an actual schedule. It remains far too blocky. They should copy France 24.

RTÉ News Now will increase it's own programming in late 2015. RTÉ hope to rely less on rotating news, by 2016.

Curious to know where you got your info from . I hope not 5 year plan by RTE as Morning Edition was in that plan and it is now history.

News Now could be improved even with small things like when they are repeating nine news for example change opening titles and a bit of editing and it would be better.

Hey, I just noticed the new bolder graphics on RTE News Now—pretty cool upgrade! It really makes the info pop. It would be even better if they could bring back that higher 'full' SD resolution like we saw on the test channel. Speaking of news, India News has been buzzing about some big changes lately too. What do you think of these updates?

It happened ten years ago. We don’t drag up old threads.
