Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Man Utd v Stoke K/O 19:45

  • 02-12-2014 12:32pm
    #1

Don't know if this is televised couldn't find it anywhere..

My predictions; Good form to continue - Man Utd to win 3-1

    Team news
Manchester United will be without forward Angel di Maria for Tuesday's Premier League clash against Stoke at Old Trafford with a hamstring injury.

The club's British record £59.7 million signing was forced off early in Saturday's victory over Hull. United are still to learn the full extent of the problem but he will definitely miss the visit of Stoke.

Captain Wayne Rooney is expected to shake off a bang to the knee while fellow striker Radamel Falcao could be pushing for a start after coming off the bench against Hull.

Stoke midfielder Steve Sidwell faces up to six weeks on the sidelines with a knee ligament injury sustained in Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Liverpool.
Glenn Whelan is also out with the midfielder pulling a calf muscle after replacing Sidwell at Anfield.

The duo join four others injured in Victor Moses (thigh), Robert Huth (calf), Peter Odemwingie (knee) and Dionatan Teixeira (broken foot), but defender Phil Bardsley is available again after missing the match on Merseyside through illness.

If Utd go at Stoke the way they did on Saturday against Hull, they're should be no hiccups tonight. 2-0 Utd (with no casualties...)

I'm going to miss eastenders now

Stoke not looking good with those injuries.
Di Maria is a loss for us but Herrera came on against Hull and played excellently.

    Team I'd go with:

    ____________De Gea___________
    ______Smalling_____Rojo_______
    Valencia_________________Young
    ____________Carrick___________
    _______Fellaini______Herrera____
    _____________Mata_____________
    _______Rooney_____RvP_________

Falcao will get a run out but won't start.
Would like to see Januzaj get a run out too.
What I like about Rooney playing up top with RvP and Mata supporting them is Mata more often than not looks for the pass whereas Rooney playing as 10 would look to shoot more frequently, starving RvP of opportunities. Rooney is excellent up top and should stay there.

In Cork airport waiting on our flight. Taking my little sister to her first game so hopefully they do the business. 4-0 United!

He played against Hull and came through unscathed afaik? Didn't hear anything about him getting a knock anyway.

Ah right missed MOTD last weekend didnt know he was back.

Happy Huth isn't playing. It means it's only probable that we will get an injury to an attacker, rather than guaranteed with him on the field.

Can't really see anything but a Utd win here. They are building up lots of confidence IMO and will have the crowd to help them as well.

5-0 to United,we owe somebody a beating.Plus as much as I love Sparky he seems to revel in beating us.No accusations of a United old boy having his team roll over there.

Rooney not on the team bus apparently.

Confident of a win but don't think it will be stroll in park

    3-1.

Even Liverpool beat this crowd so I'm expecting an easy night 3-0 United.

Hope we control the game like at the weekend and create plenty of chances.

Stoke will be well organised and may take a while to break down but I feel we have enough talent to get a few goals.

    United to win 3-1

Same system as last week so.

Would have liked to see falcao start though.

Kinda happy Rooney hasn't been risked. Utd should still win this comfortably off the back of the Saturday win.

I'm starting to think Falcao is on a pay as you play agreement!

Rooney is a big loss especially against the physicality of Stoke.

Expect Wilsons pace to trouble stokes backline and hope mata can find him with a few through balls.

Falcao obviously isn't fit. I'm excited to see what Wilson can do. He's looked sharp in his cameos so far.

Wilson only turned 19 yesterday, might put something on him to score.

3-1, Diouf to score first and then a brace from Powell I fancy, maybe one from RVP too.

    Nice seeing Herrera start!

Still think we should win this one easy enough. Im going for 2-0 Utd

    Powell?

I've been drinking since lunch time, leave me be:(

  • Powell?

    Think he means Wilson ;)

Am I correct in saying that it is an offence to ask for anybody to PM me a link to game ?

  • Stoke playing near identical tactics from the weekend gone.. Need a bit of luck early to break the deadlock

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Herrera should have taken that on himself.

Going to have to be very patient tonight. Stole have everyone behind the ball and are very organised. Getting the first goal will be vital.

Herrera with one for the blooper reel.

Wilson has a tap in if RVP passes that first time.

Well done by VP at least

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,290 ✭✭✭Oregano_State

fellaini playing almost like a right wing forward, must be a tactic identified pre-game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,623 ✭✭✭double GG

Herrera getting caught in possession 3 or 4 times.

  • Young's playing well

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,372 ✭✭✭✭Liam O

I feel like Fellaini and Mata should swap positions.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,369 ✭✭✭UnitedIrishman

Need to try one or two passes in behind, their midfield is right in front of their backline and there's bugger all space.
