Hi There, My friend travelled on the Luas yesterday from Dundrum to st. Stephens Green. He had earlier bought a ticket from heuston to jervis, and, being a typical Irish Culchie never bought a second ticket forgetting the difference between lines. He was stopped at Cowper and asked for his ticket and given the €45 fine.…

Hi There,

My friend travelled on the Luas yesterday from Dundrum to st. Stephens Green. He had earlier bought a ticket from heuston to jervis, and, being a typical Irish Culchie never bought a second ticket forgetting the difference between lines. He was stopped at Cowper and asked for his ticket and given the €45 fine. The man asked for his age and he told him he was 15, even though he's 18. He was told to appeal the fine and he Wouldn't have to pay the fine... How accurate is this though? How should he proceed with his appeal?

What appeal he didn't have a valid ticket and lied to the service agent. Just pay the fine.
