Who would take such a risk ,that the seller will meet them on site.

Are people actually paying these silly amounts of money for tickets ?
Better off to spend the money on a weekend away to see U2 in a foreign city on the next leg of the tour.

I don't think so no, they're just asking prices and they're not realistic at all. People will pay over the odds but no one is going to pay that.

they should actulally make it impossible to buy tickets on TM unless you are in the relevant country. i mean restrict IP access. I know there are ways around it, but a lot of people just chancing their arm, buying to re-sell at profit, might not know how to!

Because no-one ever goes to a gig in a different country?

    no
but they could launch the gig in the country and then make it worldwide available at a later stage

go back 15 years or so, before the internet. the only way to buy tickets was to queue up somewhere, and for eg you couldn't buy tickets in Ireland for a gig in England

Final word on the photo ID and the credit card issue.
Spoke with both Ticketmaster and 3Arena staff over the phone.BOTH assured me that they can't possibly enforce the matching photo ID /credit card rule as they estimate 'thousands' of paperless tickets were purchased by relatives and friends of those attending.

So, they basically told me to chill the f!?k out and that my wife's card rather than her presence was the only thing required.

And how does that work if the gig sells out? And I've had friends going to gigs in the UK/Europe 20-25 years ago. It wasn't that difficult. You're idea is unworkable and frankly silly.

Local gigs for local people? No thanks, I'm happy to stick with the system we have now.

What you're proposing is illegal under EU law and, more importantly, won't make any difference to touting, the vast majority of which is done by Irish people.

Don't ever, and I mean ever, work in any capacity for Irish tourism please.

Bloody foreigners, coming over here, spending their money.

I'd say most touts are in Ireland anyway. That chap was clearly in North America but I'd guarantee that over 75% of touts are Irish.

I just can't imagine people being escorted to the door and scanned in. I completely get and understand people taking the credit card of a family member or friend, it's common sense. And letting those people in is the right thing to do.

But please god they enforce the 'rule' that the card holder must enter the venue (as in the card bearer, not the name on the card).

People already have paid silly amounts of money for tickets. The ones that sold out on Monday.

There expensive enough face value. Why pay more. Paying over 3000 for a pair of tickets is ridiculous and u need ur head examined if u payed that. Is Bono going to fly or resurect the dead for that price lol

I'm going the Tuesday so have a feeling I will miss out on hearing ' what I'm looking for ' in the encore could be one hope it's not 'bad' or 40.

Well they're "only" €900 when you convert them, but it's still ludicrous.

The cheapest price on Seatwave is €340 and the cheapest on the last night is over €500.

Sure look at the three most recent sales for the Saturday night...

People are paying €800 per ticket for Section D (which ironically is not the premium seating spot, given the screen)

This will probably be their last big tour. Didn't they say they had to react to possibly being "smaller" in the market place?

I see them touring this for a while, dropping the "Experience" album halfway through (like they did with Zooropa on the Zoo TV tour - though the European tour was called "Zooropa" so that makes sense) and then getting another 6 months out of it and then that'll be it.

They'll do something different then - maybe another Passengers-style project (here's hoping!!), a film soundtrack (a real one) or even solo albums (something the Edge could easily do - he's got a great voice).

The cost of these tours can only be offset by the crowd they pull, and while they will continue to pull big crowds, they may not want to become one of those nostalgia acts like the Stones.

I have a standing spot for the friday purchased on my OH's card and realise that I'm not going to get a physical ticket in the meantime and need to bring her card on the night.
Wondering if I should have to ask any questions that an email to the vendor wouldn't answer more quickly than a poster on boards or if there's anything I should be outraged about???

I think its been asked and answered 10 times at least at this stage. Its must be on every second page of this thread.

what is the point of the student tickets ???. there almost the same price as a standard standing ticket.

Id say that Red zone ticket is crap they should be in the front of the stage not the back of the standing area. VIP entrance, Onsite host (who prob is a **** lol) and crowd free shopping. not much for 280.

I think the point was to give priority to students and maybe open up u2 to a younger audience but I think having all the restrictions and ticket options ballsed everything up and it just didn't work.

Too high a demand, 5 purchasing categories for each gig, paperless v papered tickets, ticket limits.... The entire thing was vastly overcomplicated.

"Crowd free shopping" is fantastic. Paying loads of extra cash to spend loads of extra cash.

Bookmaker Paddy Power has started taking bets on the highest price paid by gig-goers for the 3arena concerts.

The bookie believes touts’ current prices lack ambition, with Paddy Power making it 2/1 for more than €10,000 to exchange hands for a coveted ticket.

It’s 5/2 for ticket prices not to break the €2,500 mark with 9/2 available on a top price between €2,500 and €5,000.

How about I buy your tickets for €10,000 and you buy mine for €10,000?

Before that, I fancy a flutter in the bookies

    Its a deal !

For 10k ,you'd probably have a round the world trip seeing U2 4 nights a week for a few months if you wanted.

Nah, that'd only cover two tickets in the MUSIC GENERATION ZONE!!!

But it'd be worth it. Haha :)

Ah no, I just sold two at face value! Should have asked for 10,000. Stupid stupid stupid!

Is there any second hand market for these at all for face value, as in the seated tickets?

Toutless aren't allowing it, doesn't look like adverts do either. Pity as all that will do is drive more people towards the tout sites.
