Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Punk is 36.. I don't see this ending well.

Will be a massive draw for the UFC, he has a ridiculous fan base.

Somewhere right now, Vince McMahon has just exploded into an expletive-ridden (and things of that nature) storm.

Thought they're co-promoting at this stage?

Isn't Seamus and McGregor up to something?

And wasn't Rhonda at a WWE event all smiles?

Surely he fights once, maybe twice, is beaten handily and that's that? Although if he finishes a fight with a GTS I will legitimately lose my ****.

I'm genuinely not convinced they are, afterall this does nothing for WWE yet strengthen the competition.

The people who pay the PPV for the UFC are still these kind of guys:
Lesnar/Mir still has the PPV record so the UFC knwo this WWE clown will sell PPV like hotcakes

There not co promoting atall your right, this is basically the UFC taking one of the biggest draws away from the WWE, even if he's been gone for a while he still had a massive following. Vice will be fuming but it explains the non compete in wrestlers contracts.

They will probably bring in Del Rio to fight him, he was fired from the WWE &
Has a prior professional MMA background.

the UFC couldn't really care less about non-America.

Selling it to BT Sport and whatnot is a bonus but their target market is still the douchebags above.

I'm sure they won't be putting him in against anyone good. Still though he's 36 and making his MMA debut. No easy way to do that.

ok, IF I lived in America I would probably be paying for it. Are you calling me a douchebag for wanting to watch UFC?

Brendan hoped he could just sneak that line in there without anyone noticing, it was a ridiculous thing to say.

Not this soon, he's just a rookie at this stage, he's still a few levels below TUF in my opinion. At least Brock had world class wrestling to win him fights, Punk just has a white belt in BJJ as far as I know, if even that.

EDIT: Now I look stupid. :(
Well it's not really possible to below white belt. But he training with Rener at least 2 years. So could realistically be blue belt level, apparently he's claimed to be white belt for life.

Oh I know, never expected it to end any other way..most people were going with Schuab because of his odds though..in a bet it was worth a punt but realistically he was never going to win. Hopefully Pettis can keep the KO's going now in the next fight!

i sorta like shaub but still wanted him to loose , he is to much of a mouth that seems not to back it up, feel bad for the guy a loss must be horrible and i couldn't put myself in that position , great win for Browne not far of a shot in the HW ?

The attraction of odds is all well n good but if like me(& you) you don't see that as a possible outcome then your backing a loser :D

Yeah I'm on a Pettis win then tonights 2nd belt comes down to a ruthless win in the last fight

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,494 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Pettis with the KO via head-kick in the third round.

There's my very specific prediction for ye.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 715 ✭✭✭ianob7

Imagine Showtime will get the job done .. El Nino is a real brawler he will probably try to take pettis down and he's never been stopped, So it all adds up to a cracking fight !

Can't see Melendez keeping up that pace for the 5 rounds.
