Chunkis wasn't comparing V to the IV series but to the older SF games like II, Alpha and III. He didn't like IV either, largely for the same reason, that it didn't feel like the older games in terms of speed and smoothness. He had very early in the SF IV series life cycle made up his mind on the series before the mechanics and depth of the game where fully explored. He is doing the same thing with V.

While speed and smoothness is an important factor for many players, particularly for fans of the older games, they are not the sole factor that determine whether a game is good or not. I think for many pro players, IV is not they're favorite fighting game but it was good enough for them to stick with it for a while and when it developed a strong competitive scene more so than any previous game in the series, they where motivated to keep playing as the enjoyed the tournament scene or wanted to become the best.

The III series would likely also have been far less well regarded by its fan base if it didn't have the parry system.

Might pick this up on PC (currently saving for the machine). Would my Madcatz TE2 work with the PC version?

Assuming your PC recognises it, there is some way to make it work.

    Since it's a PC.

Was just looking at pricing ..

Amazon at £42 so about €56

Smyths have it on preorder at €59.99

    Psn is at €69.99

I'm assuming the likes of GameStop are higher so I haven't even bothered looking.

Any chance of a special edition with a figure or anything?

I saw the American release has a ryu statue.

Why pay €64 when Smyths are doing it for €60?

I'm hoping tesco or more likely Argos do a slightly cheaper price.

Support a local business who have done a lot for us.

Also, Player1 with the discount is €62.99.

    Put my order in yesterday.

Did anyone who bought a redeem code for the PC version from CD Keys or Instant gaming get the DLC costumes or just the game ?, cause its WAY cheaper their then on Steam itself. I have the beta on PS4 but I don't have/don't plan on getting PS+ just to play it online seeing as its cross platform now (played a PC Zangief player earlier and the game was perfect)

Anyone got a spare PC beta key ?, Ive got a spare PS4 one if anyone wants it but you need a US account.

Steam, expensive? You don't say :pac:

On the subject of PC, is anyone else having sound issues? Specifically the voices missing during character select/intros.

Wish it didn't take so long to get a match.

I'm the exact opposite I can't get 10 seconds in the lab without a match to learn anything.

Handy exploit to get stuck in training room.

    1. Choose your character in both P1 and P2 slots.
    2. Go to Dummy status and switch to recording
    3. Record onto slot #1
    4. Get 100seconds of paused matchmaking.
    5. Rinse and repeat

Yeah, same thing happened to me in a Ryu mirror last night. I thought it was pretty funny.
