    I'm curious to know what alternative "system" you have in mind other than constitutional democracy but no matter.

    As for names - off the top of my head;

    Frances Fitzgerald
    Michael Noonan
    Fergus O'Dowd
    Barry Desmond
    Nora Owens
    Michael McGrath
    John McGuinness
    Peter Barry
    Alan Dukes
    Garrett Fitzgerald
    Michael D Higgins
    Tom Kitt

    Practically all FG with one or two token Labour and FF, you Fine Gaelers really are as every bit as tribalist as the Shinners you disparage.

    Of the names on your list, one was at one time probably the most despised politician in Ireland due to his treatment of haemophilia victims (the Irish seem to have forgotten that, guess contrary to stereotype we have short memories), another was among those responsible for the 1980s economic crisis. Michael D is an amiable bluffer with nice ideas, albeit basically harmless. Wouldn't really trust him in a position of real power though, being honest. The rest are competent people, wouldn't have much to say against them.

    I have no doubt he would have fought equally for any one in distress for social housing etc if they came to him. Thats hardly corruption now is it?

    In which case there would be no housing list in his area and I assure you that there is, Buying votes with favours is the height of corruption... There is a waiting list for a reason. folk who desperately need a house. Maybe if he had BUILT and donated houses. THAT would have benefitted the community.. or ensured that there were enough houses for all who needed them.. But he did not. He pushed people t the top of the list ensuring longer waits for folk with great needs. I refused Healy Rae help by the way as I know how many there are in need waiting in many cases many years. He knew exactly what he was doing and his descendants follow his tradition. Young Johnnie got elected by housing people. A vote for any Healy Rae is a vote for self interest and corruption. They play on your needs.

    You related to him? Sounds like it!:rolleyes: Either that or you are naive.I live in Healy Rae land and know the reality...

    Ahem.
