It's that time of year where we consider the best releases of 2014.

So go ahead and nominate your favourite albums of the year and at the appropriate time I'll start a thread of the most nominated albums for everybody to vote for the overall winner. If anybody has any suggestions for this thread, feel free.

*Try keep your nominations to around 5 releases this year for the interest of quality.

Last years winner was... Queens of the Stone Age - ...Like Clockwork

With runners up... Steven Wilson - The Raven that Refused to Sing and Carcass - Surgical Steel

    BABYMETAL - BABYMETAL (self Titled)

When it comes to Metal in 2014, Look no further than the massive, break out, debut album from a 7 piece band from Japan that not only produced the album of the year. but also changed the game in Metal. Creating their own sub-genre they call, Kawaii Metal

They took their album on the world stage, Performing to sell out venues in Paris, London, Los Angles and New York as well as major, global heavy metal music festivals, Sonisphere, Heavy Montreal and Summer Sonic.

Their album topped metal charts all over the world and topped the Bilboard World Album chart on 3 occasions in the past 6 month

You can argue that you don't like the content of this album but you cannot name an Album that had as much impact, An Album that divide opinion as much in the metal community, An Album that made waves all over the world

I admit I didn't get as many albums as I'd intended to, so I only have two nominations:

Cannibal Corpse - A Skeletal Domain
Misery Index - The Killing Gods

There's a few others I don't doubt were great such as Behemoth, Decapitated, and Anaal Nathrakh, but I haven't gotten a chance to listen to them much.
