thinking about getting a new 2ds xl for my birthday not sure if i should with having a switch

Cursed Castilla (formerly known as Maldita Castilla EX) is out on 3DS next week. It's my kind of game - I'm sure I'd love it.

But as a Switch owner, I really don't want this on my 3DS. Is anyone else in the same boat?

There's so much good stuff on the 3DS/2DS that's never going to be on anything else - particularly if you like JRPGs or strategy RPGs. Even with a Switch at home, I'd still consider the 3DS essential.

I see this come up so much. There are far more 3DS owners now than Switch ones. It's basically that, plus I'm sure devs are disheartened if they see people say "oh I'd love to play your game but I can't find a Switch anywhere".

I bought Etrian Odyssey IV (permanent price reduction to a tenner plus the MyNintendo discount of a few extra euro meaning I got it for about 7 quid) and I'm loving it.

Also got Go Go Kokopolo 3D while it was discounted. It's fine so far. Reminds me very much of old Commodore 64 games. I haven't played a lot, so no strong opinion one way or the other.

The Samus Returns special edition package is up for pre order on Game UK for anyone that's on the look out for it.

Yes they are. I'll switch my pre order to Gamestop or Nintendo UK if possible though.

over the new 3ds xl which is currently 179 in Argos it looks like the 2ds is going to be 160ish?

That won't last for long, I picked one of the last ones up last week.
No difference at all bar the 3D function & Speaker position

For the sake of 20 quid, I would invest in the 3D. It's worth it for a few games and you can just turn it off if you don't like it.

Missed it. What was the price compared to Game?
Game also took all my funds straight away but are claiming they haven't.
They really are crap. I stopped using them after the initial amiibo craze and them messing up orders.

They're still manufacturing the New Nintendo 3DS XL, New Nintendo 2DS XL, and New Nintendo 2DS. The beginning of the end for 3DS? I think so. This will be its last major Christmas.
