Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

More than TA. My Sister in Law and her husband are dicks :( They took €100 as presents from Mother in Law at Christmas and didn't even give her a card.

My Mother in Law is 80 at the end of the month. She doesn't want presents but she wants the family and friends to go for a meal in her favourite restaurant. So I book a table for the saturday evening, Sister in Law asks if we can have the meal in the afternoon instead because of her 2 kids, They're 17 and 13. She's texting my husband every day asking something or other about the meal. OH is a driver so he's on the road unable to text. Driving me nuts

    Scabby bástards :(

Ms Bubbles your post kind of reminds me of a TA that my mother is responsible for. Every so often, my granny will give her €100 for me. I don't feel bad taking it as I am good to her, she is fairly minted and she likes to give to her grandchildren. Well...grand daughters! Sadly for the males in our family, she thinks it is "demeaning" to be giving money to a fully grown man...chuckle :D But you know, I laugh but that's her choice. It's probably to do with her generation, that you just don't do that once the males are of a certain age. Anyway, what annoys me is that my mother clearly has a bee in her bonnet about this and has started to interfere when she should know better. She has started coming back from my grans house saying, "oh look, she gave me fifty for you and fifty for your brother" and I'm like, really?? You want me to believe that?? It's not the money, it's the fact that she thinks she can just interfere like that and sort of go behind my gran's back. I know she is acting from a place that wants all things to be just and equal between her kids, but ffs my brother is a 36 year old man child who still lives at home, plus I have huge college fees etc to pay. So even though we are on the same wages, I have bigger outgoings and I tend not to píss away the money the way he does. It just annoys me that she thinks she can make that kind of judgment call, and also that I can't say anything to her because she will think I am a money grabber :(

ONW I hear ya. SIL is a freelancer so doesn't have a steady income but it allows her to work from home and be there for the kids. Her husband has a good job in a semi state body, he's been there 25 years and has risen through the ranks so I would think he'd earn a decent wage. Their mortgage is half what ours is and his salary alone would be 20-30k that my and my husband's combined income.

They live frugally watching every penny Yet the constantly put on the poormouth. The 2 kids are used as excuse, we can't do that because of the kids, no we can't go there because of the kids.

"How long is she dead now?"
    9 years.
"Jesus, 9 years. That was a quick 9 years."

**** off, I don't even have a clear memory of her anymore, nothing quick about it

    "Headologist" :pac:

I have been to my GP and she's being very good to me, will take phone calls etc, prescribed diazepam but I hate taking tablets, I've been taking a variety of tablets for 3 fúcking years and now I'm taking more tablets.
I would like to talk to somebody but I can't actually leave the house at the moment because (a) I've no transport and (b) I'm still too fearful but she has said she wants me to talk to a "headologist" as you say :P so hopefully once I get money for a new bike I'll be able to get back on the road and get referred to a psychologist or something.

Good girl. Don't leave it any longer than absolutely necessary, you don't want an irrational fear getting a proper "grip" of you.

The fact that I'm so careful putting important stuff away that I forget where I put things all the time! (Things like concert tickets, passports, credit cards etc.). They're not actually lost. They're in the house somewhere....

Also anxiously awaiting news of a promotion in work. Every time my email pings, my blood pressure goes up a notch...

What indeed. Mrs. Goose is looking for a pair of engineer's boots for hill-walking, something like mine. But it's proving impossible to find anything in her size at any of the Builder's Providers. Then she sees that Debenhams carry "Caterpillar" brand ladies boots. Gravy, you'd think. Until you see the Jaysisin' hoor's melts a' yokes they have. :pac:

I tend to veer around those places - they're full of depressingly sinewy, bearded, Extreme Dude types full of amphetamines and motivation. They give me quite the migraine. :pac:

Ugh on the train going to dublin for a massage and some shopping. Sitting across from nausea city. The mother keeps trying to eat the child with kisses, like literally, kiss kiss kiss kiss kiss kiss kiss kiss. All over his face. Constantly. Then she's all like "oh Dylan, what do you want to do when we get to dublin? Would you like to take a nap or maybe go get some food?" Lady - why are you asking a child what he wants to do? He's about three years old.

This is probably a bit of a mean TA. You know when someone has something really horrible happen to them, and they are photographed for an article, looking all soulful and sad, maybe clutching someone's hand. It just does my head in. I feel their pain and all, but are they told to pose like that or what ? Those trashy women's magazines are the worst with their doom and gloom stories. "My sister had an affair with my husband, after killing all my kids, and eating the goldfish ". That kinda crap :(

Grab One emailing me about offers that have already expired?? Why??? And then to add to the annoyance, they say "Wow! We blew through 7 in no time!" - what??? You only had 7? Well that's a bit f.ucking scabby! And then they say, "Maybe you would be interested in some of our other deals?" and proceed to show you two for the price of one lemon sorbets and an ab-trainer....because those are acceptable alternatives to a full head of hair extensions...

What you could to do is pipe with "Oh, you are not taking him to Dublin, are you? Did you not read the Sunday World? Oh, god, don't mind me, I have said too much already....." and just leave it at that.:D

My hair is super fine too (and is so fine that clumps of it was falling out, probably from malnutrition cause all my calories were coming from alcohol) and I got those in just for thickness and my own hair was completely undamaged when removed, they use little copper locks that can be released easily enough. Found them amazing. Then I did the ice bucket challenge where my brother and his friend dumped a wheelie bin full of water on me and that made them fall out :(

I got 18inch ones as my hair is very long and I just wanted volume, the hair is reuseable for up to 9 months, but now my hair is way too long and the length I got is much too short in my hair so until I get my hair cut I can't put them back in.

Trying to figure out what that word means is going to TA me for the rest of the evening!

It is a portmanteau of "Ox" and a popular but extremely rude word for ladies ladyparts. I believe it is originally Australian, and its foremost exponent is a certain Fred Gassit: philosopher, raconteur, dingo and biker icon. Example: "Charfuggerloognat, cunnox? That's my Shiela. 'Sorf!!" :D
