FC Porto have decided to swap Cesc FÀBREGAS and Carlos CASEMIRO for Anthony MARTIAL of Olympique Lyonnais.

Young Romelu Lukaku now has the company of young Anthony Martial to go clubbing with in Porto after the games.



I know I've paid alot for him but I made up my mind 4 weeks ago I was selling Fabregas and offered him around to a number of team but wasnt able to get the players I was after.

So I decided to take it in a different direction ... and added one of the top young talents to my forward line ...

Pity about have to add Casimero to the deal tho, would have liked to have kept him.

Thanks to the Lyon Manager for negotiating hard (but fair)

Very jealous that Martial moved, but looks a good deal for both sides imo. Maybe it's the United fan in me but I adore Martial, but at the same time, its hard to pass up the immediate upgrade the other two players bring.

Its a decent long term deal I think but slightly in favour of lyon. In a years time, martial may be a 91 and casemeiro will probably stay 90. Fabregas should stay at 94 depending on how Chelsea do so lyon will have 2 90+ players for a while yet

The other way to look at it (the way I always do!!!!) Porto has a player that can achieve a higher rating than the 2 he let go.... Cesc will start his decline next review and Casemiro imo will max at 92-93....

It's definitely a long term potential vs short term gains scenario. If Martial was ever going to leave, it was going to be a high price. Personally, I think it looks like a pretty fair deal really, although my opinion probably isn't worth much regarding these types of transfers!

I love going through my first team after all the loanees have returned and set their squad status back to 'Youth team' and watch the avg age and avg rating of the first team rise
