Shredded documentation

Hello there

Applied to a bank recently for a mortgage and submitted all our original documents

Two weeks later I asked for an update and they said our documentation was shredded by mistake and we would have to send in the stuff again

Since then we have gotten the mortgage from a different bank and I have asked the original bank to send me an email stating our documents were shredded and not simply lost as I don't want this sensitive information popping up somewhere

I have yet to get the email - any advice ?

This bank doesn't have branches in the area

Don't think making a complaint will help - it will just get swallowed up

Every bank has a complaints unit. Find out their details, or go to your previous contact and ask to lodge a formal complaint. This will set in motion the complaints procedure.
