Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Game overs...

never a red obviously. I don't even think he was aiming the arm at him either, putting it out to shield a tackle he thought was incoming.

Rotten diseased cnut of a ref and a diving prcik of a player. Worth another red to half him.

He wasn't close enough to connect properly with an outstretched arm, I don't think you can claim he was protecting the ball. He was away.

some of ye here are actual morons, must have never played a minute of any sport in your life, there is a difference between putting your hand up as markovic did there and having a swing at soemone which he absolutely didn't.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,014 ✭✭✭✭Corholio

Doesnt have to leave him bleeding for it to be a red. Swung his arm at full arm length, absolutely brainless thing to do.

If that's a red, then Felaini would be sent-off every game he plays.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,315 ✭✭✭Soft Falling Rain

Ridiculous red but Markovic was idiotic. Why the fcuk would you do that when the player is no where near and you're not under pressure?

Liverpool playing like a team that don't belong in the CL and looks like that will be happening for a few years

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,363 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

    It was stupid.

But if that's a red card (i.e. violent conduct) then I give up.

It gives Rodgers an out he doesn't deserve though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,872 ✭✭✭Dickerty

there was no reason for markovic to do what he did - why was he trying to bitch slap the Basel player?

Gave the ref a decision to make

Nonsense. Does he touch him with more than a finger tip, and he's behind him? He's trying to fend off a challenge. How can you say that is a valid red? It's careless at worst!!!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,386 ✭✭✭✭DDC1990

We're shít enough as it is, referee doesn't have to be bent like this for us to lose.

He looked to see where the opponent was; it was definitely intentional. Frig all contact though; a yellow card would have sufficed, if the ref had decided to use common sense.

Naaaaaaaa. Put the arm back to clip something and misjudged how far he was away from the player. And, morons? Really? Do mods have to adhere to the charter?

Basel resorting to diving all over the place now, how was that now a red for lashing out by the Basel player?

    ******

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,758 ✭✭✭Strongbow10

If united beat us Rodgers will be sacked

No excuses, majority of the summer signings brought in to kick us on are sitting in the dugout for a defining game in the champions league.

This level of football has Rodgers out of his depth.

Markovic looks back and clearly thought the defender would be closer to him, he's trying to hold him off.

comedy central here, he had two looks before swinging his arm back - it was intentional. He just made girly contact, but he meant it.

He didnt mean to punch him or anything, but he swung his arm back to try and keep the other player away but caught him in the face. Its unfortunate but he caught him in the face. He did swing by the way, ridiculous to say he didnt.

Calling people morons is real classy by the way.

A centre-back smacking the ball from 35-yard out has been our best chance. Says it all.

No sorry you're wrong, any game of any contact sport, even non contact sports like basketball and sport with any sort of jostling, will have that kind of non violent more spacial awareness type of putting your arm out, it's not anything.

You are wrong, no doubt about it.
