Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    never a yellow....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,026 ✭✭✭duffman13

They need to win, so strange, where's Lallana and Coutinho, surely your best chance to nick something! Stevie G up top? If this pays off Rodgers will get kudos but head scratching subs IMO

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,105 ✭✭✭mada999

    ok maybe a bit so

Broken record time but its all about the signings. Mad how Rodgers spoke of doing a Spurs yet it is clear that Spurs, despite being laughed at for wasting their Bale money, have spent much better than Liverpool

Last year after they spent the Bale money they were as crap as we are now. They picked up in the 2nd half of last year and they are not doing great this year (level with us)

They say there's only two certainties in life; death and taxes.

They forgot about the third; a yellow card for Lucas.

we've nothing to lose. try marko, theres no pressure.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,812 ✭✭✭thelad95

5 minutes of increased intensity before Basel regain control.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,308 ✭✭✭Pyjamarama

Odd subs but we brought on pace. We needed pace.

People slated Enrique, rodgers does something about it and gets slated...

Is Rodgers actually losing the plot in front of our eyes here?

I dont think there was too much plot to lose. Rodgers is a spoofer fuelled last season by Suarez. If it makes you feel better i was duped too

I suspect he too will be a different beast without Suarez beside him causing havoc.

I suspect you are wrong, Sturridge's scoring record as a striker suggests the same :)

Anyway, two goals scored and none conceded over the next 45 mins and we are flying :D

Need a goal... take off the only striker.

I think the players they bought are better players and more suited to how they play. Not that i think they are great. And your point is valid

Yep. Brief huff and puff before it's back to the same old crap again. Basel will then score after 71 mins to end the game.

Basel fans unveiled a banner supporting Justice for the 96 at HT according to TV3.

Fair play to them. Touch of class.

    Great start from markovic

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,349 ✭✭✭✭super_furry

This is great. Rodgers brings on two wide men with no strikers on the pitch, what could possibly go wrong?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,026 ✭✭✭duffman13

Basel looking a bit tanked already. Already dropping off and stopped pressing!

I mean, Sterling and Moreno, probably Marcovic too, can deliver a decent cross into the box. Lambert is good in the air...just makes no sense?!

Sure completely disregard the fact that Rodgers lead us to the champions league. This is really poor stuff and not very surprising but he deserves a lot more than a few months to turn it around.

All the rival fans weren't saying they hope he stayed on last year. I still have faith in him but there's a big job there.

Rodgers deserves criticism for tonight. When I saw the team line up, it was obvious this would be turgid.

I'm not calling for him to be sacked, he did get us here and he's a young manager learning all the time. But I can't lie at what I see

    This is somehow better :D

I can't believe we don't have Lallana or Coutinho on the field right now.

100% agree. It was targeted to all of those calling for his head immediately.

Markovic showing a bit of class for the first time that i've seen.

Pity there is no striker to finish his chances.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,546 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

Have to say that Markovic has had a positive impact so far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

It's way too early for Basel to try hold the lead

They could have scored 1 or 2 more playing like they did first half

As a United fan i see your Alexis Sanchis and raise you a Ronaldinho in 2004

We need to get Couthino on for Gerrard, but can't see Rodgers making that call after using two subs.

    Not tonight he can't

Lucas gets a yellow for a challenge like that, but its not ever a free for Liverpool.
