I've restored an Acronis image of my system and all is well from that side of things. The system has Outlook 2007 and the PST file from the image restore is not current. I have an up to date PST file backed up just prior to the wipe and want to use that on the restored system.

What's the best way to approach that operation?

    1. If I import the PST file I'd imagine it will just add to the existing one and maybe even double up on each contact entry? I don't want that.

    2. Can I just delete the existing PST file and restart Outlook 2007 which should create a new blank PST, I think? and then import the latest one? or is there a better way to tackle it?

just point the account to the newer pst and then delete out the old one.

As in, Tools>Options>Data Files and point to the new PST file? Simple as that?
