Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

VW Polo 1.4 1996 - mystery - won't start

    So 3 mechanics later...

Have a 1.4 petrol VW polo... Was always a great runner...

Failed NCT slightly on emissions... so we replaced the air filter and oil filter. Drove it home. Next day it drove me to work and back but didn't sound very healthy. Got a mechanic to have a look. Told me the distributor cap was corroded and to get a new one. Next morning... car was turning over and not starting.

New distributor cap, rotor & spark plugs. Checked coil, fuel pump, injectors, carburetor. Car is getting fuel & spark and still not starting. Then for a split second yesterday the mechanic turned the key and it started, it stayed running until the mechanic turned it off and now not running again.

Tonight they will check the distributor leads with spare leads to see if thats the problem.

    ANY IDEAS?
