    Is it true that you can claim the tax back at Dublin airport on what you brought while on holidays in the states

    No! In fact you will be charged further tax if you're over your personal limit!

    Americans and some other nationalities can claim tax back at Irish airports on what THEY buy in approved outlets in Ireland

    Taxes here depend on the state and/or city. NJ has no sales tax on clothing, but charges 7% for almost everything else.

    Delaware has no sales tax at all.

    The best way to avoid the taxes is to check the rates for whichever city/state you're visiting. If it's a short hop to a state with lower or no taxes, then shop there.

    There is no way to get your US Sales tax back. Some shops will remove it at the point of sale if it is over X amount (different stores have different policies) but there is no other way to claim it back
