    Hi All

    We are The Black Captain, a 4 piece Acoustic/Folk/Rock band from North County Dublin.

    Our influences include Fleetwood Mac, The Low Anthem, The Villagers and song writing inspired by love, life and loss. We've played all around the city in including The Mercantile, The Academy, The Workmans and Whelans.

    Our first recording "‘Calling to you’" was well received and featured in 2XM’s Best of Irish show for 2013.

    While playing live is the driving force behind the band, we have pretty much dedicated 2014 to recording our first EP.

    We recorded 5 tracks in Westland Studios in Dublin between December and April with the multi talented producer Alwyn Walker. We can now honestly say that we proud of what has been produced. All that remains is to promote the sh1t out it and that’s what the plan is for 2015. That said we have about another 20 original songs that need to be recorded. But one step at a time.

    The EP is out tomorrow 12th December on all digital platforms. It has been available on presale for the last week on iTunes and did surprisingly well charting at No. 4 in the alternative charts.

    We recently filmed this video for one of the tracks "Stars" with Matthew O'Brien. We took a trip out to Rush Beach on a sunny but cold Sunday in November. This is what happened. Have a listen and let us know what you think.
