Had the pleasure of meeting Pointer and Dilbert at the Blackstairs race. Two intimidatingly fit looking bastards

The course was good and on par with the others iv tried. I was surprised at how few people turned out, competitor wise.

Organisers and volunteers were brilliant! It was a different feel to the larger events.

I didn't do great but I wasn't pushing or expecting to....but I wasn't expecting to come last either, which I did

Will be back again next year!

TEAR 24 hour on May 23rd/24th isn't on the list either. Run over stages with teams of two, so a good into to the longer distances

for me its a matter of cutting my cloth to suit, everyones circumstances are different though, couldnt attempt to enter full day or multi day races, no way id get the training done..
so its all short(er) stuff, suits for now, maybe when kids are bigger and can mind themselves ( teens ) then the longer stuff might happen..

It's all over. Eoin ran a mind boggling 816.35k in 6 days and bagged 2nd place overall. The winner ran an even more mind boggling 975.65k!!!!

Phew, I'm glad I'm not the only one. Housemate just came into bombsite of a kitchen wondering how long I'm going away for ..... ahhhhhh 24 hours is all :eek: :eek:

I'm hoping after an hour or two it will at least be organised chaos!!

Big bit of news breaking through on the adventure racing circuit in case anyone missed it. A race combination / merger happening with two of the biggest race organisers in the country Killarney Adventure Race (Company) and Outfront Events under the name of "Quest"

Here are the dates for your diary for Quest Adventure Series 2016:

Quest Killarney 12th March
Quest Glendalough 23rd April
Quest Achill 3rd September
Quest Killarney 1st October

The outstanding thing is they are reintroducing Adventure Racing to the Wicklow area since the WAR series has gone dark.

Worth checking them out and we will be sticking an AR calendar up later in the year again.

PS - I see the old '#' is getting used more by the adventure crowd
