import tax royal mail ?

    i have a question does the royal mail screen every item sent from the U.S to the uk for import duties and vat,

    item value will be 85 pounds

    It's not definite, but if it's obviously not just documents and it's not marked as a gift (both of which must be declared on the customs declaration by the sender) chances are good that it might get screened, in which case you'll probably have a fee to pay for the import tax.
