Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

LG "Cable DTV" Option and UPC

    Hey all,

So while messing around with my 2013 model LG 47LS4600 TV, I discovered a Cable DTV option in the setup menu that lists UPC Digital as an option.

I currently have a UPC Digital HD box connected to it via HDMI that works fine, but out of curiosity I decided to try connecting the cable direct to the TV and see what happened...

.. nothing! The Auto-tuning option brings up a frequency screen and while you can scroll up and down the band, it doesn't lock on anything.

Anyone ever try this and get it to work, or is it pointless as the channels are encrypted anyway? I'm just asking out of curiosity really that it lists it at all if so.

    Any ideas?

Its pointless as all but a very small number of channels (last time I checked, just TV3 - it might have changed now though) are encrypted. UPC in Ireland don't offer a CAM and you are required to use their STB.

These were the list of channels a poster tuned in on their TV directly connected to the UPC cable earlier this year - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=91110196
