Have a black, full metal WE 1911 for a couple of months now. It's been well cared for and never skirmished, but the paint on the butt is showing a fair amount of wear.

Last week, I picked up some matt black paint in an arts and crafts place (one of those tins that are used for model planes and the like), but it has begun to chip now.

So is there a particular paint that will work on the metal of this pistol?

    Thanks lads!

    Hello.

Not sure how easy it is to obtain in Ireland (bought some from UK), but Simoniz Tough paint is excellent.

You can bake it in the oven to harden faster making it very scratch/chip resistant.
