Telltale Games adding another project to their list:

    msm_630pxhedimg.png
Minecraft's silent landscaper Steve is exiting his blocky world and stepping into Telltale's world of stories: Minecraft is getting a "narrative-driven" game from the folks behind The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones games. Like Telltale's other work, Minecraft: Story Mode will be episodic and available on a wide variety of platforms when it launches "some time in 2015." Apparently Microsoft's promise to keep Minecraft multiplatform is holding, despite the acquisition.

Telltale's describing the game as a "partnership with Mojang," and says it won't exist as an attachment to Minecraft -- it's a standalone episode series "driven by player choice." Both Mojang and Telltale point out that they're working with the community to craft the narrative, and Mojang specificaly says, "We're not intending on creating an 'official' story for Steve [the main protagonist of Minecraft], or explaining the world of Minecraft in detail."

Big fan of some of their other series, and this could be interesting. Minecraft art style would work well within a TT game, be interesting to see what kind of story they come up with though.

Just hope it doesn't impact the other games too much, the delays between episodes are long enough.

Telltale stuff is grand, but its not so much a game as it is an interactive story.
I just finished the wolf among us, and while the story was enjoyable and some of the scenes cool, there was very little interaction outside of conversation choices. even the QTE's could be handled passively by not interacting.

This is just a shallow cash in and I won't hear otherwise :P

Instead they could be building a better engine or having your choices mean something instead of the illusion of choice.

    I like their games...
    But MINECRAFT!!!!
    Feck off Telltale games
