Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

In the last show before Xmas, RTE have not disappointed with this week Late Late line up.
Irish musician Hozier will chat to Ryan fresh from his Victoria Secret performance earlier this month.
British boyband sensation Take That will perform their new single and will chat to Ryan Tubridy.
Ryan will also be chatting to actor Aidan Gillen who plays Haughey in RTÉ’s new three-part ‘Charlie’ drama and also to the writer of the series Colin Teevan.
Ryan will get chat to Robbie and Claudia Keane after Robbie’s return from LA Galaxy
Other guests on the night will include comedian Pat Shortt and Nathan Carter and it was earlier confirmed that The Voice of Ireland judges Una Foden and Rachel Stevens would also be appearing.

Have RTE not given Imelda May's parents their own sitcom yet? :pac:

Shorteh? Ha, it's been a few weeks, I suppose.

There is something very amusing about Rachel Stevens being a judge on a singing competition. That's a bit like getting one of the lads from Westlife to judge...oh, hang on.

I am pleased to see it is a proper full length LLS, and not the fun size short-cut shows they have shown the week before Christmas in recent years.

I hope we get another water charges protester like Brendan had to endure last week (or any other protester). Sit down ya clown! :)

I'm not expecting much as regards the 'Charlie' bit, (although by all accounts there's plenty of Charlie in the production offices at RTE). I can't see a die hard Fianna Failer like Tubbs giving them much to work with.

Tubbs: Aidan, tell us all about the completely fictional drama
Gillen: Well actually it's very much based on factual events and how corrupt Haugh....
Tubbs: Gillen, is there an Irish connection there at all?
Might be fun watching Tubbs sweat. Less turkey for him at home if he doesn't close them down.

Tubbs: So Pat...ah sure go on so, it's Christmas..
    Shortt: Da plaschtick begs!

He probably thinks Robbie Keane is on for a surprise reunion with Take That.
The rest is just RTE advertising RTE.
Glad they got Hozier at least he's current, but the MOR country bumpkin will balance that out ;)

Is it because Sepp Blatter being a lying corrupt disgrace in charge of a shambolic embarassment of an organisation isn't news anymore?

Better standard of guest mostly I think.

It's incredible to see Take That's fall from grace since Robbie left again and Jason too recently. They go from selling over half a million albums in one week with their last record (fastest selling album of the century and second fastest ever behind Be here Now by Oasis) to barley selling 100K, and falling out of the top 5 in the UK the following week. And here in Ireland their drop in popularity is even more evident. Progress went to #1 and they sold 2 Croke Park gigs out in a few hours (160,000 tickets) and now their latest album only reached #10 and they can't even sell out two nights in the 14,000 O2 Arena. The album has flopped all over Europe too. Such a huge public backlash has to be as a result of the remaining three members being caught out in a huge tax avoidance scandal in the region of £60M. Wonder is this the reason Jason left as he wasn't involved seemingly? Neither was Robbie apparently, not that he needs any extra money anyway.
