Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

We're very lucky not to concede there..

Looking at it again, I think he knew he wasn't going to win the ball but decided to follow through with the tackle anyway, going full pace and missing the ball by miles in that circumstance should be rightly considered serious foul play and therefore the red is justified.

You can get sent off for kicking out, that's what he did. Clear red card.

I agree with you but no one will care if utd go on to win except a few villa fans.

Great to see that all the bumslappers are in agreement that it's a red, impartiality at its finest.

The Ref is getting card happy now isn't he.

Anyone who understands football and the laws of the game understand its a red. Get a grip.

Next he'll be busting out the black card!!

Falcaos off the ball movement is excellent.

I disagree thought the Ref went a little OTT on it. Either did Matt Le Tisser

"It looked like it could have been a yellow to me. Lee Mason was very quick to get the red card out. I think he may have been a little bit harsh on Agbonlahor."

Graeme Le Saux said the same thing on the Commentary as well. But its been done.

The Refs in the PL have been pretty poor this year.

Yeah mate, I'm sure you and your buddies know the laws of the game inside and out and are uniquely placed to call the decision correctly

It's a joy to watch, United aren't finding him enough though.

Matt le Tissier hasn't said anything impartial about United ever. He's a useless pundit in general anyway.

Anyone who thinks it definitely wasn't a red, what did you think of Rooney's red card earlier in the season?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 372 ✭✭TINA1984

Another bad decision by the ref, looks like China's most popular football club have got the refs back on side anyway.

People seem to be forgetting the red card he got for kicking out at a Montenegro player! Kicking out equals a red.

Bringing on Wilson has unbalanced the team.

You'd think Utd were 3 goals up the way they are playing now.

That wasnt the same thing at all. Rooney kicked out when the ball was gone, off the ball.

Don't think anyone really said it was definitely not a red, more that it could just have easily been a yellow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,812 ✭✭✭thelad95

It was a definite red. Agbonlahor needs to pull out when he realises the ball is lost. He doesn't and deservedly gets sent off for a reckless action.

I think your below comment Re: China's favourite football club shows your agenda here. As for my buddies, I am not sure what they have to do with this thread or indeed this game. You don't need to know the laws of the game inside out, just a good understanding of what constitutes serious foul play in this situation but by all means continue to shoot your mouth off :)

Gabby got nothing of the ball, and took a full swing at Young. Not the same red but ya can't be doing that.

Enlighten me, what's my agenda here? Obviously you, being a fair and impartial football oracle of delphi who just so happens to be a MU fan, don't have an agenda here, definitely not.

We've been poor since Di Maria and Young switched sides, young is much better when he cuts in and Di Maria was getting shots off

Time wasting from catches is something every keeper does when theyve a chance.

Refs never punish the 6 second rule.
