lads i need a bit of advice, im going to order a boyds stock for my cz 455 .22 it has the heavy barrel. on the boyds website there is a selection choice of barrel
1 any
2 bull
3 factory
i emailed them but no reply.
any idea which is the one i need to select? also have you any advice on which would be better for hunting. also would this stock also fit my cz 455 17hmr. thanks lads

Factory is the tapered barrel, you want the bull version according to this; www.boydsgunstocks.com/how-to-select-a-gunstock/barrel-channel-variations

the evolution stock will fit any barrel the barrel is free floated out the front, go for the bull barrel in the rest

thanks for the help lads. i like the look of the evolution stock but i dont see any swivel studs for a sling. i wonder could i put them in after

Yes you can install sling swivels. Also, Boyd's might do it for you for an extra charge, not sure. I'm getting one for my .22 and will do same.

Here is some how to info in case interested, if they don't do it I will go this way. On the evolution stock you can choose a strong and suitable place for the sling stud in the forend. He's using Uncle Mike's swivel studs.

i heard back from boyds EWquinn and they wont put the swivel studs in the evolution stock because it would take it over the $100 limit

Thanks. I've installed Uncle Mikes before, just simply installed the kind with the screws in the forend & butt stock, no drill through. Worked fine and still holding up very well. I like the way Larry Potterfield did it though.
