Tried Smokin Bones and it was no Bison. The ribs I got did come of the bone easy and the sauce was nice but it will take a lot to beat Bison.

How does Pitt Bros compare to Bison?

I think Bison is great, never tried Pitt Bros - is it worth a try?

Just on the Black Sheep and their burgers, it's not worth it. Got it again at the weekend and specified that I wanted slimmer chips, but no, got the same half potatoes as before. And it's a nice burger but not worth €13,with the chips being inedible.

Had Bunsen at the weekend. Simple amazing burger.

Yeah AFAIK. I wish you could get kebabs cheaper here. In Germany they were only €4 max and amazing. My favourite was Egyptian style Kebabs. They were so good I queued for 2 hours to get one after the world cup final

and now i want a german-turkish style kebab...one of the things i miss in dublin...

Went to SmokinBones. Thought it was lovely. Some nice competition for Bison and PittBros

I'm I the only one that found bunsen a massive disappointment considering the 'buzz' around the place? I mean they were fine burgers, not bad or anything (about the same quality in terms of taste to what you'd bang together yourself in 5 mins at home if too lazy to put effort into something and didn't have much to work with imo). For somewhere with such a limited/"specialised" menu - plain burger on plain bun or plain burger on plain bun with one slice of plain red cheddar, add plain ketchup or plain mayo if you're adventurous - one would expect the couple of things on offer to be a little bit exceptional?

Taste is subjective I guess, but found them square bang in the middle in terms of any standard plain burger you'd get anywhere else across the city. Really don't think in a 'blind tasting' they'd rank highly when pitted against any selection of similar burgers selected at random.

Coupled with the above what I found to be pretty crap service on the admittedly only visit to the place, had to ask for the bill 3 times when the place wasn't particularly busy and was still left waiting so long we were tempted to just leave, I'm kinda at a loss as to where the buzz has been generated from?

steak : Darwins (Aungier street, best blue steak in Ireland), FXB (all)
    Sushi: Musasi capel street
gastro pub: Alphie and Byrnes opposite NCH - lovely pulled pork and good beer

Comfortably the best burger I've ever had: Ireland and in the same ballpark as five guys or In and out

Dillengers in Ranelagh do a burger that competes with Bunsen IMO. Both are burgers of extreme quality though, and I really don't think it's accurate to say they're no better than a random selection of burgers you'd find anywhere else around Dublin.

Must try Dillingers despite the Ranelagh prices. Do they ground their own beef and ask how you want it cooked?

In Bison what should you get a plate with 2 sides or a sandwich and which is nicer the brisket or the pulled pork? Cheers just wondering is there bread or something with the plate?

Full rack of ribs. Nothing else is needed.

The Good Food Company in Ballsbridge, Serpentine Avenue. Both the best sausage rolls (they do a regular, breakfast, or veggie style roll), and the best coffee (genuinely), I've ever had in Dublin. That's some double. Check them out if you're in the mood for either and in the area.

Wow. Have never seen such high review scores on Yelp, Facebook, etc

    https://www.google.ie/search?q=The+Green+Bench&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&gws_rd=cr&ei=qkhaVaaQDqmt7Abw24GwAQ

I must get try it. The queues must be horrific though?

They move fast, line is usually out the door but you're never waiting longer then 10mins. Pork shoulder or brisket being the highlights. Gone up a bit but €5.50 is great value
