Everyone has their own selection of universally panned atrocities that we secretly watch and love, well post them here and face your shame !!!

    My shameful guilty pleasures:

Star Trek V: The Final Frontier
    A View to a Kill
    Predator 2
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

    Battlefield Earth 3000

Its so bad its really quite funny but can't watch it more than once every 3 or 4 years. I actually bought the DVD (car boot €1) because I'd heard it was the worst film ever made and thought I have to see that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,443 ✭✭✭Bipolar Joe

Ah, now, Krull, Conan and Evil Dead 2 are far from bad movies!

Rock 'n' Roll Nightmare is the best bad movie, in my opinion.

Over The Top with Slyvester Stallone...

    Psycho Cop 1989

It's either so bad it's good, or just so bad it's f*cking terrible.

I have a soft, squishy place in my heart for Far and Away. Yeah, it's a piece of American-oirish whimsy packed full of bad accents, but I still like it. More than I should. :o

I also really liked Superman III, even though everyone else seems to think it's utter shite. Bad Superman fighting Clark Kent in the scrapyard - brilliant!

Quicksilver : 80's version of Premium Rush with Kevin Bacon in the lead role.
Has several brilliantly cheesy scenes involving dancing and bicycles.

Mannequin: A man begins a relationship with a mannequin (she's human to him) that only he can interact with. Plus Kim Cattrall is also super hot in it.

Predator 2 isn't bad, it had a lot to live up to but I always it was a great fast paced action film.

The first Pirates of the Caribbean was ok but after that came just horrifically bad wretched cinema. Torturous.

I like the third pirates of the Caribbean (except for the wedding part). For some reason I like it being overly complicated and hard to follow. Maybe it make me feel clever

Also terminator salvation is a guilty pleasure.

Steven Seagal's efforts from the late '80's / early '90's, particularly Under Siege and it's sequel.

Mess with Casey Ryback at your peril!

    The Room

    The ultimate good bad movie..

This is hands down the best bad movie ever.

Also the fact that it cost several million to produce only adds to it's sheer brilliance.

Other honorable mentions include Sharknado, Hard Ticket to Hawaii, Mac and Me (the best ET ripoff ever - I think everyone knows the infamous 'wheelchair off cliff' scene?), and For Your Height Only (a James Bond spoof featuring a 2ft tall Filipino midget, the worst dubbing ever and outrageous action scenes).

Rock 'n' Roll Nightmare is the best bad movie, in my opinion.

Ah Rock N' Roll Nightmare, priceless film. Still piss my self laughing every time at the
    fight scene near the end
. Only found out recently there was a sequel.

No mention of Fatal Deviation yet?

Ill throw out an honorable mention to Zombeavers too. Rubbish but hilarious.

Better off closing the thread because things are getting stupid now. Seagal made some classic action films in the early 90s and Under Siege is an awesome movie.

    :cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:.

I will say, the sequel isn't even a scratch on the first one. I reviewed them both on my podcast, but I don't think I'm allowed to link to it for some reason.

One more... The Evil Dead 2!!

Amazing film, in no way bad whatsoever.

    I'll nominate 'Taffin'.

Oh I thoroughly agree, don't get me wrong! I love those movies but I get some funny looks sometimes when I admit it ;)

Anyone mentioned Cage's latest "masterpiece" Left Behind?

Its hilariously bad. Ideal with a hangover. The closing scene takes the biscuit. Honestly its hilarious!

Pretty much any Nic Cage film is watchable because it has him in it.

I think Troy is actually a pretty good film, but it's usually panned by critics and casual film-goers alike. It's got hot guys for the girls, and hot girls for the guys, and a fantastic duel between Bana and Pitt. I think it's actually above the average fair and undeserving of the criticism it gets.

Breakin 2: electric boogaloo...it probably hits every 80s cliche, seems like it was directed by a child, but still cheese-tastic.

The story of ricki - if you haven't seen this you've had a deprived life, it's pure genius. Terrible special effects, awesome kills, like a bad real life anime

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,280 ✭✭✭mattser

Still not totally convinced it's a bad movie, a lot of it is clearly intentionally absurd so he definitely hit some of it right, but Southland Tales deserves way more love than it gets either way

Dion Element: The dude hasn't taken a **** in a week.
Veronica Mung: When has it even been in the Bible that you have to have a bowel movement? It's not written anywhere.
Dion Element: It's not written in the Bible, but some things is written, like, in mother nature. All of the animals ****. Cows ****, llamas ****.
Veronica Mung: Do they like it? Do they want it? If they had a voice would they, would they rather not?
Dion Element: I think they feel better after they take a ****. I think they do like it. My answer is yes.
Veronica Mung: My answer is no!

Some really weird casting going on too, e.g. Jon Lovitz as a badass cop.

I think some people are missing the point of this thread, its films everyone says is crap but you like anyway. Your guilty pleasure.

I know James Cameron said his was the first resident Evil film.

Mine would be Van Helsing and Raw Head Rex.

Nic Cage's remake of The Wicker Man is a fascinating movie. Has to be the theatrical release.

There's something about Speed Racer that I find utterly compelling, even though it makes me feel like vomiting.

Some classic crappers on my laptop ATM.

    Black Snake Moan
    The Haunting of Whaley House

    Fright Night
    Mortal Kombat

    And plenty more lol

I imagine Armageddon fits in here. So so bad, but I love it every time. Also as mentioned, anything with Nic Cage, good or bad, is always good in my books.

  • Registered Users Posts: 105 ✭✭PhilBill

Not sure if anyone has said this yet but if they haven't they have no idea what a bad movie is yet!

    Sharknado

And if you want to go one further

    Sharknado 2
