    actually its kinda weird being no.1 in this stip round cos my top pick could still be taken by the next 3 to draft from the previous round. If not though I think I know who I want.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

    I like this stip. I'm expecting some very interesting picks from people.

    Plenty of names on my list have already had to be crossed off after the last spate of picks. Really like a lot of 'em.

    Anyone else besides tbc use up all their tag picks yet? I've used up four so I need to think carefully about my last one.

    One the subject of tag teams for the next round, do both members of said tag team need to be part of ECW or only one? I imagine its both

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,846 ✭✭✭Moneymaker

    I like this stip because I got an early pick :pac:

    Decided to take a risk and jump the queue for the ECW guys. Taz was on my list anyway but being 11th in the next round meant I had no chance of getting any of the 3 ECW guys I had really wanted. Relying on a lucky draw for Round 7 now.

    Yep knew I left Tazz too late :/ he was my World Champion pick from last year until i decided to swerve on the last 2 shows a great character and horribly underused in WWE

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,159 ✭✭✭mrkiscool2

    Phew. Was worrying all the way to my pick. Have to put my thinking hat on for the next round but delighted with picking up The Young Bucks!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,491 ✭✭✭thebostoncrab

    The Young Bucks compliment your roster so well it's almost scary!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,364 ✭✭✭campo

    Had to wait a while but finally got the one I wanted since the start of the draft

    In terms on pure wrestling talent, MrK has a pretty sizable advantage imo.

    Doesn't mean everything that being said. Strong characters/writing can more then make up for it.

    An NXT/WcW 96-97 Cruiserweight roster merge is pretty insane though :D

    Aries is such good value at this stage. Definitely slipped under the radar.

    TBH, I had a tag team in mind for this round but when I realised Aries was still available decided to take him not sure yet how I will use him though

    Inclusion of WWECW leaves lots of good picks available in the round and some really good ones overall between the two time periods.

    Since we're now more than a third of the way through the game I thought I'd check the averages so far and take a look at some of the picking patterns as well.

    I included round 6 even though it hasn't kicked off yet because the draw for it has been made.

    Draft placings for first 6 rounds

    Bounty Hunter = 4, 17, 20, 18, 3, 1
    RAF32 = 16, 5, 19, 16, 8, 2
    Lebowskilite = 17, 4, 18, 8, 12, 3
    Uncle Walt = 9, 12, 17, 4, 16, 4
    MNG = 7, 14, 16, 7, 10, 5
    MoneyMaker = 11, 10, 15, 6, 15, 6
    Campo = 14, 7, 14, 1, 18, 7
    Spongey1975 = 8, 13, 13, 10, 11, 8
    thebostoncrab = 12, 9, 12, 3, 13, 9
    BrianRegan = 15, 6, 11, 15, 6, 10
    Brad Maddox Guy = 18, 3, 10, 9, 17, 11
    Beaker Joe = 3, 18, 9, 5, 2, 12
    Lithium93]_ = 1, 20, 8, 11, 14, 13
    JP Liz = 20, 1, 7, 13, 20, 14
    Lord TSC = 2, 19, 6, 12, 7, 15
    Shagnasti = 19, 2, 5, 19, 4, 16
    Jester252 = 10, 11, 4, 14, 9, 17
    Connemara man = 5, 16, 3, 17, 1, 18
    Sin Eater = 13, 8, 2, 20, 5, 19
    MrKiscool2 = 6, 15, 1, 2, 19, 20

    Average order (ranked lowest to highest)

    1. Beaker Joe: 8.1
    2. thebostoncrab: 9.6
    3. MNG: 9.8
    4. Connemara man: 10
    5. Campo: 10.1
    = Lord TSC
    6. Lebowskilite: 10.3
    = Uncle Walt
    7. Bounty Hunter: 10.5
    = BrianRegan
    = Moneymaker
    = MrKiscool2
    = Spongey1975

    8. Jester252: 10.8
    = Shagnasti
    9. Raf32: 11
    10. Lithium93: 11.1
    = Sin Eater
    11. Brad Maddox Guy: 11.3
    12. JP Liz: 12.5

    The gap between top and bottom is smaller than it was last year and most of us seem to be around the same general region. I would say LTSC's decision to throw in some reverse order rounds has proved a good move.

    Some stats on picks made

    146 people have been selected so far. 134 men, and 12 women.

    Unsurprisingly thebostoncrab has drafted the most women with ten. The remaining two females were drafted by myself.

    Thebostoncrab is the only participant to use up all of his five tag team picks. I come in just behind him having used four tag picks. Four participants have thus far only picked one tag team: campo, LTSC, Shag and Spongey.

    Only three people chose not to go for a former World Champion in their first pick. They were: campo (Mr Perfect & Scott Hall); ShagNasti (Prince Devitt) and Lithium93_ (Seth Rollins).

    Only two people went for a tag team with their first pick: campo (Mr Perfect & Scott Hall) and thebostoncrab (Trish Stratus & Lita).

    New wrestlers to the Draft game are Erick Rowan (drafted by connemara man); Sweet Saraya (drafted by myself); and Charlotte Flair (drafted by thebostoncrab)

    Had Aeries in mind myself if he wasn't taken this round and he was actually 1 of 2/3 I was considering alongside Vader this round so great Value at this stage.

    I'd assume everyone knows but as I didn't mention it in my post Lawler's ECW link is due to how he kept referring to them as "Extremely Crappy Wrestling" on WWE tv and those insults lead to ECW eventually "invading" Monday Night Raw in February of 1997 and ultimately to a match with ECW wrestler Tommy Dreamer at ECW's Hardcore Heaven pay-per-view. He really helped promote them tbh (MCMahon though giving the airtime over to promoting another company obviously deserves the kudos)

    thanks again MNG as usual thats in the OP of the other thread now and the stats are interesting enough but yeah nobody is getting as screwed as before atm. I'm bang in the middle of the pack now (with 4 others on 10.5avg) after this rounds reversal of my previous no.20 draw for instance.

    2 women I hoped someone else would draft as I wanted a reason to not book them! :p

    Just read through last years picks thread and without realizing i've somehow managed to so far pick 3 picks exactly the same as BH did previously.. Wonder if its great minds thinking alike or else people being fed up with the BWA and wanting to jump to WECWF :pac:;)

    Bruiser, Bret and The Freebirds

    definitely great minds there

    but now that you mention it I think i've done the same with MNG!

    Lawler, CM Punk and iirc Vader

    It clearly jumping ship in this case though :D

    and now its MNGs turn, wonder will he take some WECWF alumni (possible as your fed did always have the ECW feel to it)

    We're gonna take over the BWA nWo-style. ;)

    Funnily enough walt has taken my most recent pick in the past and he was the one guy I didn't want to be behind in this round for that very reason. Thankfully for me he fancied a different approach this year.
