    yea bit of money raised;)

He was a ghostly figure, impossible to judge him. Looked a good athlete, had the physical presence required.

Good business by both clubs, he'll either impress or perish back down with Watford.

How come our transfers drag out.....

We sell Capoue and Paulhino easy peasy.

I know theyre not valuable members as Toby is to Southampton, but still...

We don't know that any transfers are dragging out though. The vast majority of what we hear is total bull****.

watfords highest priced signing ever apparently- hope he does well and improves his consistiency for them next year

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,160 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

He'll do well for them, and will more than likely score against us.

Bentaleb signs a five year deal. Lets hope he keeps improving.

That's great news, was a little bit worried when he went public about the contract negotiations - didn't like that

Harry Winks signed a new one too. Might be a name we'll all be seeing a good bit of soon enough.

I wonder if this will be enough to convince Lloris to stay and captain the side.

    Walker/Trippier Alderweireld/Dier/Vertonghen/Wimmer Rose/Davies

Its beginning to look like a decent enough defence for once at the club..

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,160 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

I'm quite happy with that signing. He's an improvement on what we have, and has plenty of Premiership experience. Hopefully we can ship out Kaboul as well, but i wonder what will happen with Fazio.

And I don't see Lloris leaving tbh.

Toby Alderweireld’s dad, and agent, has denied that a deal for his son to move to Tottenham is close.

Reports on Tuesday suggested that the Atletico Madrid defender was undergoing a medical with Spurs, but it appears those stories are wide of the mark.

Vic Alderweireld said: “We have a concrete agreement with no one. There are conversations right and left but currently there are no changes from the last few weeks.”

That's the defence sorted, about time too. Plenty of competition for places.

Still require a creative midfielder, easier said than done. And a back up striker for Kane.

Hopefully a few more out the door too.

Very happy with that, and as above, that should be us sorted in defence. Bring on a decent midfielder, and a striker, and we are good to go.

Also, i expect to see Vertonghen improving this year, if he gets to partner with Alderweireld regularly.

Yep, defence sorted, apart from getting rid of Kaboul, Chiriches and probably Fazio.

Wimmer, Dier and Veljkovic as youthful back up to the two Belgians.

Those two should find suitors this transfer window, well you'd like to think.

Vertonghen really hasn't looked impressive for a long time, well not since his initial impact. He'll have a instant rapport with Alderweireld.

Are we going to see an improvement, in attitude or leadership? Cause he sure as hell doesn't know how to command that back four.

I still think his position is up for grabs.

Haven't seen wimmer play so can't comment on him. Don't think fazio was a poch signing. Still think dier will be bang in the mix up for starting centre half.

Maybe Tobys been bought for midfield. We're hardly overflowing with age and experience in that department.

Vertonghen hasn't become the leader we'd like him to be and sense he can be, but I still think he was our best centre back last season comfortably. He was very poor the season before.

Looks promising but let's not forget we only bought 5 players last summer and all of them were defensive (keeper, 3 defenders and Stambolui as a defensive style midfielder ) and that didn't work out too well.

They also weren't PL experienced either. Trippier and Alderweireld have both performed above any of our current players in those roles last season in English football.

Our full backs - Walker, Trippier and Yedlin, ..... Rose and Davies.

    Centrehalves - Fazio - Dier - Toby - Yan - Wimmer.

Looks like Kaboul and Vlad will go....

Paulinho , Capoue and Holtby gone from the midfield,

    Pritchard, Carroll coming into squad.

Ali will go out on loan.

Will Jan the Man be used as a defensive midfielder? Still have 4 centrehalves, or will Fazio be bombed or Wimmer sent out on loan too?

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,909 ✭✭✭Sugarlumps

Yedlin could get a run out on the right wing.
Carroll is too slight, maybe for Europe. Wouldn't be surprised to see him being sold.
I think Fazio will be kept, CB's have a habit of getting injured.

Watched a few Wimmer videos, although YouTube can make anyone look like a superstar. Could be a dark horse this season.

I believe Dele Ali was told he would not be loaned out and would be a member of the first team squad.
