Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Santa has just been and my 2 lads are just after ripping open their presents in which they received an Aldi gaming headset each which works in the xbox also.
To our disappointment the headset must be connected by cable ( supplied ) to the control, tv and the xbox ! Unlike standard gaming headsets which just connect to the control.
    VERY DISSAPOINTING ALDI

Ehhh, my turtle beach x11 connect to the TV, Xbox and controller. If you want in-game sound, I'm pretty sure they have to. The cheap headset that plugs into the controller only carries voice.

Did it not say it on the box?

Oh... I didn't know this, I was comparing it to a cheap version of which the older lad has one.
Must all gaming headsets do this ( connect to x3 devices ) and what extra benefit is it compared to the just voice version ?
One other point is that the kids have to sit within 3-3.5 meters of the screen which is a bit close as it's a quite big tv.

No picture of the extra cabling or anything. It says the cable is 3.5 Mtrs long but that's it, they really hid the fact of having to connect to all the other business and now the boxes have been ripped open in the excitement.

I'd have issues with distance to the screen alright. Mine stretch the full length of my living room (~5m). The benefit of a proper headset is that they can play games in relative silence to others in the house i.e. mute the tv, the player can still hear everything (I bought mine so I wouldn't disturb the ever-sleeping nurse that I live with).

I just connected one to the xbox and measured the remaining cable ( anal I know ) and the furthest from the xbox/tv is 2.7 meters, too short in my opinion, I think I'll try and bring back in a couple of days.
Anyway Happy Christmas and thanks for the replies.

Why not just get some cheap extension leads?

I have the tv over the mantle with all the cables hidden at the back and the distance down to the Xbox is greater than the distance on the cable section from Xbox to tv.
To be honest they're actually a comfortable headset to wear just disappointing with the restricted cable issues etc.
