Obscure films your local video shop had when you were young

Though video shops are sadly now a thing of the past, going into our local when I was young was always thrill for me. Looking back, there were many obscure films whose covers fascinated me, but which I've never seen since.

What were some examples from your local video shop years ago?

One that caught my eye was Valerie and Her Week of Wonders a 1970 Czech fantasy about a teenage girl who starts to discover her own sexuality. Its a nice film if you seek it out.

Yeah the current DVD release from Second Run is very nice too.

    Pin is absolutely dreadful.

They Nest is alright though, saw it a few years ago.

One of my favorite obscure movies hanging around in the mid 90's in my tiny, local store was Cyber Tracker, a shameless rip-off of Terminator and Robocop that should have been terrible - and was, but in a very enjoyable sort of way.

I remember reading a review on IMDB once for it. "This movie has a lot of explosions. Things that cannot and should not blow up, blow up. This is a movie that would make Michael Bay say man, that is a LOT of explosions."

Ha, I have Cyber Tracker. That's a fairly accurate description. Don Wilson was also in a movie with Billy Blanks the fantastic name, Bloodfist. You should hunt down that, and Cyborg Cop.

Can remember too many of the cover, but often watched a lot of the zombie movies with 2 kids who lived across the road and their parents.

    Loved the video shop.

There was a film called shag with a saucy looking lady on the cover that would always catch my eye. I wasn't sure what the word ment exactly but knew it had something to do with sexy time!

Can't seem to find it on imdb though.

Can't remember if I ever managed to persuade my parents to rent it out or not...

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

I always thought this looked like a Police Academy rip off.

I never knew why this one was in the Horror section, as it had a PG certificate.
