    hi, what cell phone are you using (re: background info)

    general Meteor ISP connection details outlined in this post (as long as you are already provisioned/set-up my Meteor to use it)

    oops...

    phone = sagem my x5-2
    gprs is set up and working on the phone
    using a program called wellphone : http://www.smartcom.com/
    to detect the phone via infra red and install it as a modem

    i have entered all the settings into the program as outlined in the above post
    it then goes through a normal dial up process on screen
    initalising...
    dialing...
    authenticating...
    it gets stuck at authentcation with eror 721 : http://www.modemhelp.net/dunerror/error_721.shtml

    anyone got any experience of doing this?

    hi, just to note there are various GPRS services, so you may need to make sure you are set up (provisioned) for each of the one's you want to use, e.g. for this you need to be set up for access to their Internet [isp.mymeteor.ie] access point...

    haven't used Wellphone as I just go the manual route with the relevant modem driver entering the appropriate INIT / extra dial string to get a connection working... don't use Sagem handsets here and the 'Planet Sagem' site requires registration with a IMEI number so can't look into it much further
