Anybody been in the situation where the collector's edition is the only copy left in stock? Mad case of 'eh, this is not how this is supposed to work, lads".

Had a cousin I haven't seen in years up yesterday to have a few cans. Showed him the games room and his eyes nearly fell out of his head. I've never seen someone so overwhelmed looking at games. He was literally plotting his whole gaming life, shelf by shelf :D

Gamestop and HMV are still sitting on special editions of CoD Ghosts. I've seen the prestige edition for as little as €40. A friend of mine picked up the prestige edition of MW2 and Black Ops at launch and they cost about €150.

I feel so old. The DS and Resi 4 are over 10 years old :(

Stop lying, they only came out last year! :(

I've been playing Another World a lot lately on the WiiU - the 20th bloody Anniversary Edition!

And in actual fact, that's out of date now, it's really 24 years old :(

So does that make the DS retro now? PSP is also over 10 years old now.

Also at the end of this year the 360 is over 10 years old!

I wonder if any launch 360s still work?

The longer you are in the game, of buying and playing games, the more incredible the passage of time appears, wait until you see posts of people whose first console will have been a PS4 or a 3DS!

The RAGE are having somewhat of a sale at the minute. They've a load of stuff sitting outside at €2 each. Got a boxed copy of Mega Games 1, Virtua Cop on PS2 and Gran Turismo on PSP, and the mother picked up Sega Rally and MSR for the Dreamcast when she was passing the other day.

They have a Spectrum manual outside in one of the boxes too. Might interest some of you.

It's also a bit of a kick for anyone buying either of the New 3DSes - no points for the handheld itself?

What's the bet we're going to get a sh*ty version of Playstation+ from Nintendo?

Nintendo value their IP too much to cheapen it the way Sony do. I very much doubt they will introduce something like that and are usually very slow to adopt something so drastic.

Although anything is possible with Nintendo.

Yeah seriously doubt it. I ccertainly hope they don't! Free online is win for Nintendo for as long as they can keep it that way.

I stopped my ps+ sub last year, too many games this it's overwhelming and just never get around to playing them. And physical where ever possible forever! (except on sales on eshop)

Just spent the last 45 mins trying to read the eeprom from an original Xbox. For all we give out about with todays computer tech, going back to serial ports etc today was a lesson in humility! Got it done in the end anyway

Well I finally found out where that giant Game Boy I seen two people carrying around the CHQ building in Dublin was going.

Some IT company has setup their offices in one of the larger empty shop areas.

Been getting stuck into mine recently as well, had forgotten so much about modding them. This one is tsop'd so easy enough to mess with.

Configured Dash2GAM as the primary dashboard now that XBMC is no longer needed. Basically is the original dash with the 'Live' link replaced with 'Hard drive' so looks great I think.

Ordered a crystal XBOX as well and a bunch of games - I didn't even own a copy of Halo so decided it time to get a few :)

Edit: Actually tHcLite is even better as a dashboard..

    **** sake!

Ive spent so long over the last week getting 7100 stars together. My mate helped me out and I managed to get it up to 7550 stars.

Went onto the star catalog yesterday and it kept saying I had 7300. So it wouldn't let me buy 'Ball' - even though I had 7550 in reality.

Logged in today and the catalog finally says I've 7550, but it keeps saying I don't have enough for ball.

Damn you Nintendo!! This should be straightfoward and easy.

Just a heads up guys, as we all know at this stage Parcel Motel are not that gentle with packages/boxes. So if you’re getting a delivery that includes something with compressed gas(and I’m talking deodorant/paint or stuff like that, not crazy stuff) there is a good chance the bottle or can might be damaged and explode or leak out aggressively.
Why am I saying this, well I got an online boots order sent to my motel as I wasn’t going to be around to collect it at home and I didn’t fancy sending a big boots box into work. Well anyway they crushed the box and a can was burst. So they’ve marked it as “Hazardous Package” and won’t deliver it. I’m guessing it was destroyed/dumped along with the rest of the bits in the box.
Now it’s my own fault in a way as I should probably not have included a compressed can in the delivery, but I didn’t expect them to be crushing the box!!

Anyway, just something to keep in mind. I never get anything fragile or pricey sent to Parcel Motel anymore as every single box I have got from them has been damaged or crushed badly, usually the items are ok inside but not this time.

I wouldn't get anything of any value sent by them anymore after the way my last couple of packages have arrived:(

I can see the headlines now,
"Man sought for IED device found in Parcel Motel Depot, army Bomb Disposal spokesman said it was a viable device consisting of pressurised cans and using old games consoles as a source of shrapnel, which may certainly have caused injury to Parcel Motel Staff had it detonated. The Gardaí are now seeking a man who fits this description in connection with the device,

No they won't. Some orders have slipped through but a lot have been cancelled due to them not shipping to forwarding addresses.

Mine was cancelled by them because was using parcel motel. So I says f them and ordered from Amazon.fr and got the Majora's Mask SE game for €5 cheaper than Nintendo's store.

Just do that instead, straight to your door with no messing around with PM etc.

Is it true that PM tend to break stuff on the journey?

What price did you get it for, I see one for 399€

I wouldn't mind getting a temp job with Parcel Motel to see what they get up to. They must be training up for the next Dodgeball movie with Patches O'Houlihan

Would it be in French or is there a language choice?

I would think it's the same if I bought it from Germany or Italy and it has the 6 or 7 standard language's that a game bought here or the uk has.

My whole life is Ace Attorney at the moment as I'm stuck on jury duty. Except in real life pretty much every time there's an objection the entire jury has to get up and leave the room for 10 minutes.

Shouldn't be anywhere near that. If it's that price, it's someone trying to extort money, or importing it from Aus/NZ, and charging for that privilege.

I can only give my experience but have ordered 30+ things from Parcel Motel and never had any damaged packages. I've also found their customer service very good. Rang on 1 occasion to inquire about a delayed parcel and it was because someone has forgot to put the PM no. on it, they apologised and credited 1 free stay to my account. On another occasion I was posting a parcel and while I was picking up the parcel to put it in the locker, the wind closed the door. Rang them up when I got home and explained and they credited my account with the fee so I could print out a new label, all of this in about a 30 second phone call each time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,147 ✭✭✭CathalDublin

Well I'd be surprised if you could get hold of them that easy now, In fact they had removed their phone number from their website last time I checked.
Have a look at the thread here or a quick look at their twitter feed, or the article written about their bad customer service in the Sunday Times last weekend, shocking stuff altogether.
