Wonder will BBC NI pick up on the obstruction for the try? Hmmmm.
Shhh. Rory will be firing a few lawn bowls around the pitch and that's your analysis.

Repeating something ad nauseum is not justifying why you repeatedly slaughter a novice out half learning the ropes, claiming he should be ditched entirely.

Galait, please read the charter, specifically this point:

    DISCUSSION RULES

Actually its not. Did you see Connacht game on tg4 today? Nope. Very good commentary on that channel and show all provinces...

Nope. What time was it on at?

Look at the 1st half and tell me that he was not the poorest player on the pitch. He has started the second half proving my point.

Why on earth would you throw a long lineout like that 5 yards from your own line in wet conditions? Asking for trouble.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,818 ✭✭✭Inspector Coptoor

Healy did very well there with that covering tackle and followed it up with a great mark from a cross field kick.

I know the conditions are awful, but the handling is awful.
    So many knoc ons

I agree with the BBC NI commentator about Denis Buckley's scrummaging! He reminds me of Marcus Horan!

Rough night for Cooney, just looked rusty. Thank God for Marmion coming on though.

    Connacht kicking has been dreadful

I'm not debating Carty with you, I'm instructing you to post in line with the charter or take a holiday. And if you're not happy with mod instructions, DO NOT debate it on-thread, use the PM function.

Just as you say brilliant kick to corner!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 669 ✭✭✭galait

65 mins: Connacht go back upfield and Carty crossfield kicks for Healy. Again, it's got too much legs on it, and goes to touch for an Ulster lineout.

Even RTE Tracker seems like its had enough of him

Great try Connacht! Always a pleasure to hear the Ravenhill crowd silenced (or is that an oxymoron?)

I don't know but they've nearly all been brilliant. Very impressed

    Kudos to Ulster great defence

Good result for both sides I think.

LBP at one of the toughest places to go in the league. Great Ulster defence towards end. Proud of the LBP

Thought Lacey let it be a bit too much of a free-for-all at the ruck but he wasn't unfair towards either team.

Fair result and a good perfromance by us. Lbp in ravenhill is always a good result. Now to beat munster :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,166 ✭✭✭✭Zzippy

Ulster just about deserved that, more for their impressive defence than any other facet. Both teams very even - if Marmion had started might have been a different story. Not a great watch but thought Buckley was once again excellent, and Herring was outstanding for Ulster. Too many handling errors killed any momentum Connacht had at crucial times, but we played a lot better than against Leinster. I would have taken a LBP before the game, disappointed now but take it and move on. Munster next week will be tough after their big win today

So I was wrong. We lost and jack didn't hit the gain line once.

Is Tom McCartney a project player?
Very impressive again tonight. Aki has been disappointing. Maybe with time he will show better.

I would've taken the LBP before the match. Free for all at the ruck but same both sides. Im gonna comment on players from now on so they prove me wrong.
    Positives
Maul defence was good and with Munster coming to town that's good to see.
Dillane had a good match not spectacular but got about
Carty was 100% from the tee. ( I think)
    Buckley really gets about
    Negatives
Kicking game was poor the good kicks were the exception not the rule.
    Too sloppy at ruck time
Too many missed tackles in poor areas

Overall still threatening to click but not managing it.

Very very happy be a BP! Valuable for a Ravenhill trip

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,636 ✭✭✭✭Tox56

With Cave getting a run at 13 there must be a temptation to leave him there and put Payne at 15. If Olding goes to 12 the Henshaw-Olding combination becomes a genuine option. Please

Jesus, but I'm beginning to sound like galait. Cartys kicking was awful. Dillane did well. I still wonder about McCartney holding the scrum together. While McCartney plays the lineout well we seem to have lost power in the scrum. Both aspects are important but i give jhw the nod

JhW is only available for next season in all likelihood...
The choice for scrum could be Heffernan (and maybe Heanry in April)

I'd take any win at Connacht. Although Munster have a fantastic record in Galway, you haven't beaten us since 08/09.
