cant work Twilight app

I used the twilight app on my galaxy and i found it very helpful, until now I got my new phone the xaomi mi4, downloaded the app and it wont work, I was rooting through some settings and set the phone to trust the app and allow it to run but still no joy. Any ideas anyone?
