Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

When Coutinho turns 13 we'll have some player on our hands.

Probably already mentioned but Coutinho has been superb tonight.

Outstanding performance tonight, shows we can cut it without Sturridge or Suarez, and some of the questionable signings shone through most importantly.

    My face hurts from smiling!

A consistent middle ground would probably be better though.

Emre Can is such a great player to have. He's so composed on the ball.

    !

That a bit like saying Burnley are capable of winning all their matches based on scoring twice and getting a draw at City.

Great ball from Lucas...like he suddenly remembered he was Brazilian.

Would have been happy with a draw but it's great to win.

He's been showing consistently good performances recently though, needed the game time to get up to speed

Great 4-1 win. +1 Goal Difference and Lallana with a few goals.

I thought henderson played well too, some very nice passing. Lucas was quietly effective too.

That Emre Can is a cool cat. Him and Sakho should be the first two defenders on the team sheet for the foreseeable future.

Having a striker who can run makes a massive difference to him

In fairness, the linesman didn't have a great view of it.

Well thank f*ck Lalana wasn't swapped at half time like I wanted. Immense in the second half! Thought Rodgers had the whole team set up brilliant tonight.

I guess the Shelvey incident cancels it out.

Won't sterling get done for that?

Could have killed him. Luckily the morgue like atmosphere had put the officials into a state of semi sleep.

that pic makes it look as if he punched him when it was more of an open handed slap.
still shouldnt do it, atari ban in the post imo.

Brendan did say Sterling would be rested over the next few games.

Sterling getting himself a 3 Game ban for that is one way of making sure he gets rested.

Neville making no point about the two "sending offs" no way the officials havent seen them

Delighted for Moreno and Can they're really growing into the jersey. Can is ice cold as well, no panic, great to see. Markovic has a bit of confidence too, hope he can push in. Even Mario seemed to be looking to pass rather than shooting at each opportunity.

Silly from Sterling, the Swansea defender didn't do much to provoke it either.

Must be from being frozen out of the team. ;)

The atmosphere has been getting progressively worse at Anfield over the last few seasons. Tonight was so so noticeable.

Even this year's Champions League games, albeit nothing to shout about, was so poor. Compare that to the Rafa years.

No English ground had produced an atmosphere like the Champions League semi final 2005 at Anfield.

It's needs looking at and it's not just the team on the pitch.

I have very limited frames of reference to compare it to, but was in with the LFC fans for visit to Old Trafford and was amazed: before kickoff and during first few minutes it was among the best crowd I had been in: exactly what I expected, the best fans for the best club buzzed up for, what is for some, our biggest away game.

Yet, after 1-0, it completely went to ****. It was genuinely worse than every Ireland game I've been to after 1-0 down. Then compare it to When I was in the reebok stadium a few years back. Sang away. We went 1-0 down. Sang away. Kept up the pressure. 1-1. 2-1 down. Fans still in full voice. Then it went to 2-2, 3-2. And that was that. I'm no fool, and don't attribute songs to victory (I was at euro 2012 after all) but I was genuinely stunned by how quickly the ball was burst for the LFC fans at old Trafford...who would surely be among our most loyal and vocal fans.

The above post has struck a chord with me, and something that had been nagging me ever since that game.....

One is a regular England international though. The FA do seem to go a bit easier on them.
