Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Sturridge on the bench! :D

Ibe is also on the bench with Borini but Balo isn't, if he was loaned or sold by 11 pm Monday I'd not be shocked.

is Lovren injured? I know he's been poor but surely you have a centre half on the bench when playing with three

I wonder is this the beginning of the end for Lovren and Balotelli.

Hopefully it's the end of the end. The beginning of the end was September.

    We really don't.

And we've bought him & given him **** all chance.

    Jokeshop treatment tbh.

Why does Balotelli get a free pass from you despite hardly putting a foot right since he joined but a couple of stray passes from Sakho is jumped on immediately?

    Strange behaviour tbh.

Sakho is here a year longer & has gotten so much opportunity compared to Balotelli. Stupid comparison tbh.

    Balotelli is being treated appallingly.

If we don't want him, sell/release him. Whatever.

Don't say we want him, then not give him any chances. Or use him as a scapegoat which seems to be what Rodgers wants him around for.

He's squandered every chance given to him of which there has been many, he's actually declined since we bought him and i did'nt think he was up to much then never mind now!

We should have got rid this window, the longer he stays at the club the more of a negative impact he will have on other players at the club.

I'd rather borini actually making an effort than Balotelli standing and watching. #movement

I agree he is being treated badly but to say he's not being given chances is wrong.

He's being given plenty of chances but he's not taking them.

I was quite happy we signed him but enough is enough... he's getting worse every time he plays.

I vaguely remember you being down on Sakho from near the get out, saying he wasn't good enough.
I would argue that he showed a lot more in his first few months than Balotelli has.

A few mins here or there really doesn't count

He's getting worse because of the way he is being treated imo. Being used as a scapegoat by the manager continuously. Publcally dropped on numerous occasions despite his performances being no worse than many of his team mates.

As I said, shocking by Rodgers.

Needs to improve his man management big time.

To a certain extent i agree he has been treated a little harshly, but what do you want BR to do? Keep starting a player who clearly is'nt good enough?
LFC is not a charity, we must play our strongest team to compete.
We've looked far far stronger with Sterling up top on his own since the new year.

I'd start Borini over Ballotelli any day, at least Borini works his socks off but at the end of the day he's just lacking talent on the ball.

Surely if a player looks a bit shit most times when he comes on for 30 mins or so when most of the other players have been running about for 60 or 70 minutes it's a pretty damning indication of him? I mean the manager is hardly going to think "Hmm... Well he did nothing when the rest of the players were starting to tire... I should play him again."
He was awful against Chelsea when he came on, doesn't deserve the bench today.

  • Registered Users Posts: 821 ✭✭✭Techniques07

Balotelli started plenty of games when he first arrived and had some howlers. I still think he has time to come good but you can't start him when we've just found good form, you have to go with the players that are working in the formation. There's no point in setting yourself up for a loss just to accommodate a player.

He was much better than Rickie Lambert the other night.

Yet Mario is dropped from squad, Rickie isn't. Strange.

Have you considered his attitude in training maybe?

Don't think any of us have enough insight to question the man management, I haven't seen anything to suggest Rodgers is poor at it.

Sakho & Mig were returned to the fold and were better after than before, we might see similar with Balo.

Folks on here were bitching and moaning of the treatment of Markovic... Says it all imo... Bitches be bitchin...

A great way to excuse any decision a manager ever makes

"Oh it must be down to attitude in training"

Markovic is very poor today ,losing a lot of possession and everything West ham are getting is coming down his side

"He must be a terrible man manager" is a much better assumption.

Balotelli is hardly Gary Neville. Doesn't have a history of being a model pro

He sometimes struggles with man management. Surely you can admit that?

He started every game in the league until his injury, came back against United, got suspended for posting a stupid ****ing mario poster and then got dropped. As would any player. He has been awful. Do you know who else has been awful and only signed in the Summer? Lovren. Has Lovren been mistreated?

Mario needs to fight for his place. Sterling is a better option up front hench him being benched and dropped. Mario isn't being unfairly treated, he's not good enough.

Its almost like you have an agenda but that wouldn't be like you, rolleyes smiley x 3..........

I was going to count Sterling but he did score today ;) As our strikers hadn't been getting game time lately.

Delighted to have Sturridge back and amongst the goals, along with a much needed win considering the teams around us.

If the Midfielders could now start to chip in with a few goals, we be laughing.

We're going to win the....... Fourth place spot.

Same back 3 and goalkeeper along with the same DM and another clean sheet.

Who would have thought not changing them every week would have lead to this.

Over the next 18 games ........

11W, 5D & 2L yields 38 points and a season total of 67 points, realistically I can't see anything over 67 points this year. I do think that 67 points is achievable though.

3rd win of the above mentioned 11 achieved (3 on the trot too), another clean sheet too.

24 points from 33 since the 3 PL defeats in a row.

Lucas & 3 CBs continue to function functionally :)
    Sturridge back and scores
    Coutinho assists :)
    Sterling scores :)
Ibe gets over 10 mins of PL game time when we are 2-0 up at home :)

    Increasingly hard to complain :D

(I'll leave others to comment on the negatives and the bad run of form earlier in the season)

Clean sheet! Sturridge scored! Weekend made :D
