Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Can someone give a brief rundown of the story regarding ffp.
I've heard stories of the club being investigated?
Some on here have posted that the club have to sell to buy. If so is leeway so tight that all that's available is straight swaps for fees and wages I.e if Borini was sold for 8th does this mean only 8 can be spent on a new player??

As was announced a few months back we are being investigated for ffp breaches, but it'll be a while before we find out the results. The club maintain that they are compliant so we'll see. Either way if we are not in the CL next season we'll definitely have less to spend. We can't afford more fúck ups like against Leicester if we are to make top 4 though.

Good result today & decent performance in the first half. Second half was piss poor but at least we didn't blow it in the end!

Markovic & Lucas were excellent imo. Borini was poor & imo Balotelli is a better option up there. Or better yet, I'd like to see the pair of them together.

Hopefully this is Rodgers' realising that Henderson needs to be in the middle & Gerrard further up the pitch, but there has been false dawns in the past! Fingers crossed though.

Strong rumours going around that Lucas will be off to Inter next week. Would seem bizarre given he's back in the first team and playing consistently well for the first time in a while.

Independent also have us "close" to signing Higuain with Ballotelli possibly going the other way.

That would be very bad news if true, we'll have to see. Not sure why he'd leave given he is very much back in the team.

Madness, the team is a hell of a lot more solid since he came in. Even though Can might be his long term successor for the DM role, I don't think he is ready for that role yet. Lucas is a hell of a lot better at reading where there is danger in front of the back four. Its a position that needs an experienced player.

    Lucas isn't going anywhere.

Would be madness to sell him midseason.

Though I'm sure the Italians would love a loan deal with the option to buy*

    Which they won't.

3 players for Inter in this window, is the bribery back in Italian football?

Are Inter still in the CL? Because Lucas would be cup tied then.

They got knocked out in the same round as Man Utd this season in the CL.

They are in the EL though and he would be cup tied there.

Both defensive and attacking play was excellent today.

Realistically I reckon Lucas is going nowhere in Jan, higuain most certainly isn't coming to Liverpool and I'd say Mario is staying put too this transfer window.

Higuain would be class though, realistic potential for 20 goals the next 2/3 season's would be well worth us paying the release clause.

Looks like Lucas is going. Plenty of reliable sources reporting it. Very strange to let him go now.
But FSG & Rodgers are obsessed with young players.

If Lucas is going it is down to the manager and or the player on this.

The player either wants out or has been told he doesn't feature in the managers plans going forward.

Letting him leave before the summer is just a joke if a DM isn't brought in.

Particularly if that job is left to fecking Joe Allen. Haven't seen any of these rumours though.

what reliable sources are reporting it?

I wouldn't call any of Lambert, Lallana, Lovren or Ballotelli particularly young, and they were all bought during last summer.

I would imagine that we won't be buying a replacement for Lucas either. Emre Can.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,243 ✭✭✭✭Jesus Wept

Allen is a spoofer through and through and there is no hope for him. He is too short too. I don't know what Brod was at. He had first hand experience of Allen and Borini.

What is it with managers doing that? How often does it work out?
How much ****e have lfc managers brought from former clubs on arrival? Jobs for the boys, 'he's a nice lad and I want to stick him on the make a wish program.'

If Lucas wants to go then we can't do much but if the club or the manager are willing to sell him, then its a concern.

The club/manager must be aware of the improvement in defence that he brings.

I do hope they have a proper replacement in mind.

If Lucas goes I can only assume Strootman is being bought.

Or else, they officially don't know what they're doing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,930 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

If we end up going for Delph or some like than for little money or a free in place of Lucas leaving then just.... I have words I can use.

We,can hold him until his contract is up and let him go for a free in the summer. We might not get a fee then but I would argue that the minimal fee we would receive then is worth less than what he adds to,the team until then.
If the club let him before then,,it's madness!

I knew Lazar would come good. I think he will be a big player for us over the next 3-4 years. Still a bit to go yet though but the sky is the limit.

Also I feel that we played well today.
People were crying out for scrappy 1 nils, we get one and there is still complaints. Apart from the swirling Johnson shot, Sunderland produced nothing of note and this is a team that scored two against City recently.

Not many complaints in fairness. 4 points off 4th. Mental league this year.

still waiting for a halfway reliable source.

Twitter, for liverpool football club atleast seems to be a pretty reliable source these days. Lucas out with a superior replacement in is great, if we just loan em out without a replacement it will be up there with one of our worse transfer dealings.
