Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Im just wondering, because at the moment there are no courses for me to do after i finish the PLC course next year. I will have to wait like 3-4 years for the course i want to do after, but i wont be able to find a job in the mean-time. Will i be able to get any money or am i just gonna have a bad time starving to death?

Why so you think you wont be able to find a job in the meantime?
dependant on your age and living circumstances, you should be eligible for Jobseekers Allowance.

I will be 19 when i'll finish the PLC course (Post leaving certificate), and then I would be trying to apply for the jobseekers allowance. What i was wondering was if i could still apply even tho i haven't worked anywhere yet. I have heard that people wont get jobseeker's allowance unless they have been working for couple of years, but someone told me that "education" like leaving cert counts as if you were working for the couple of years and then you'd qualify for the jobseeker's allowance. Is that all true? Or will i first have to find a job for a couple of years?

You may be confusing what you heard about Jobseekers Benefit (based on a person's social insurance PRSI record and not means tested) and Jobseekers Allowance for which these are the eligibility criteria:

To get Jobseeker's Allowance you must be aged over 18 and under 66. You must also:

Be unemployed (you must be fully unemployed or unemployed for at least 4 days out of 7)
    Be capable of work
Be available for and genuinely seeking work
    Satisfy the means test
    Meet the Habitual Residence Condition
