After heavy hard deluges all night here high in the Kerry mountains...I was out all day and drove the last few miles in the gloaming.....Huge moon and clouds lying atop the mountains like snowdrifts. Fitting the mountains....Never seen the like and it took the breath away// all the way home, from Cork coast, the clouds were streamed across slopes lit by the bright sunset but this effect close to home was magical. Awesome

Overcast with stratus cloud until mid afternoon, broke up after that giving a really nice evening. Dominant wind from the NE although gone around to the SE now. Even though calm still good waves on the sea left over from the windy spell the last couple of days, good conditions with the breeze coming off the land just helping to hold up the waves that extra bit, good few surfers out in Banna Beach today.

if you half close your eyes and squint it looks like the whole place is covered in snow - hope this isn't the closest we get!

Very fortunate to have sunshine here on the North Kerry coast all day with a smashing sunset and light well past 17.00, some very interesting Lenticular clouds too late in the evening lit up by the evening sun.

Reached its highest temp a short time ago at 10.3C and down slightly now to 9.8C. More cloud about this evening, some light rain/drizzle showing up on the radar in these parts, nothing here yet.

Variable light breeze avg 5 kph with a Southerly aspect.

Calm, clear sky and full moon; having reached 5.8c with some cloud earlier there is frost again on the cars, grass etc.

Temp 0.9c and still falling - wasn't expecting this. A ninja frost?

Very unusual local cold weather in the Dublin city/suburbs area. Whilst most places around the country 6 and 11c, Dublin Airport and Phoenix Park are both at 1c. Even Casement is at 6c. My closest station is Dunsany and that is at 7c in a very rural setting. A station on Conyngham Road which is beside the Phoenix Park and Heuston Station (so almost in the city and definitely within the normal UHI affect area) is at 0.6c as I type.

Cold and a glorious rainbow as a shower swept across the land.. There are three layerss of mountains ( South Kerry) at my back door... often the far ones will have snow but today the middle ones are dusted also.. awesome skies
