Still undecided on what to do! 2FT and planning to activate WC later.
    Team for GW:
    Hart
    Terry | Phil Jones | ??? (Baines/Hutton/Naylor)
    Hazard (c) | Sanchez | Silva | Downing (Marney)
    Costa (vc) | Austin | ??? (Benteke)

    Kane + PVA ?

    Any suggestions?

    Aguero gonna play this weekend?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,397 ✭✭✭OneColdHand

I thinking of just switching Foster in for Guzan. I have 2FTs, and 0.8 in the bank, but nothing else is jumping out at me. I'm finding it a strange week for making transfers.

Can anyone see anything I'm not seeing?!

    Guzan - McCarthy
    Terry - Zab - Trippier - Wisdom - Hutton
    Silva - Siggy - Boyd - Sanchez - Hazard
    Austin - Costa - Rooney

If I only use 1 of FTs this week, it would be handy to have 2FTs next week to get in Aguero (and keep the WC til the last week of the window).

I've mulled over a good few potential transfers during the week, but not convinced any of them are worth it. I'm wondering if Ings in for Austin might be a good shout?

Edit: I'm a relatively conservative player, but in this case (2FTs and WC imminent) I'm open to taking a bit of a punt!

Maybe rooney to Kane or ings

Have a midfield 4 of Boyd, Sanchez, Hazard and Siggy this week with Yaya on the bench. Should I just go with those 4 and get rid of Yaya next week or get him out now. Help is appreciated.

I think I want to hang onto Rooney this week. If Ings/Kane come in, it's either Rooney or Austin to make way. Rooney has a home game while Austin is away. Admittedly neither are exactly setting the world alight in recent games, but I think of the 2 Rooney is more likely to score (Paddy power anytime scorer odds: Rooney 2.29, Austin 2.50).

I'm gonna ask a really stupid question here--I'm numerically challenged--but is 2.50 better than 2.29 or what's the craic with PP's odds? (I'm not choosing between either; just wondering.)

Does 2.29 mean Rooney is more likely to score or not? Again apologies for the dopey question. :pac:

Yeah took me a while to understand it too as I'm not into betting. I find the decimal odds easier to figure out than the fractions, as it's just the lowest number!

Yes, 2.29 means more likely to score than 2.50

I'm open to correction, but 1.00 would mean evens odds on someone scoring. Costa is the most likely to score this week at 1.44.

Nothing is ever 1.00 odds(that would mean it's guaranteed to happen) 2.00 is even odds, ie 50% chance

  • Hmm, can't decide whether to bank or to make a gambly switch this week.

Pretty happy with my starting 11 this week and first sub really! Tempted by Mata in for Silva for the 3 weeks til wildcard maybe...

My other decision for the next 2/3 GWs is Kane or Ings?

The Kane train shows no signs of faltering but fixture congestion and Spurs being Spurs concerns me. Ings look better for Danny with Vokes back and a lovely run of games and 0.1 cheaper.

Leaning towards Ings but a healthy dose of reality could change my mind.

Hah yea it's basically 1 divided by the odds:
eg Costa to score is 1/1.44 = (roughly) 70% chance

I deliberated on the same issue and decided on Kane. Next week is looking sparse for captaincy options and I'd be more comfortable captaining Kane against Sunderland than Ings against Palace. Also, Kane does well in the BPS (at least two baps any time he scores) while Ings doesn't seem to score too well in that.

Planning on wildcarding next week I think so have one transfer to make a single punt on a mid to replace Yaya and need to decide who'd be better this week, Di Maria or Chadli?
Chadli seems to be involved in an awful lot of the good things Spurs are doing but I do already have Kane so a blank would hurt a bit more. Di Maria might not even start and is against a tougher team but is at least at home and is always dangerous.

    2 FTs used.

    Benteke -> Kane
    Sterling -> Walcott

    Theo's back b!tches....

    ...hopefully :o (Boyd 1st sub)

    Do you have Sanchez too?

    Do you have Sanchez too?

Yeah I do, it's a risk but they linked up well last week and Walcott will be a game sharper.

Had 6.1 to take a 2 week punt on a defender. Had a toss up between Azpi and Trippier.

Could have made strong cases for both of them, ended up going with Trippier becuase of his awesome profile pic....
    77794.jpg

Now can someone please pick my team for me....

Need 2 (to go alongisde Terry) from...
    Cresswell (Swansea A)
    Taylor (West Ham H)
    Hutton (Leicester A)
    Trippier (QPR H)

Could play another if it's worth dropping one of...
    Siggy (West Ham H)
    Austin (Burnley A)

On paper this could be one of the highest scoring weekends of the year I reckon.

I'd go Hutton and Trippier. I'd say both West Ham and Swansea will score so I would keep Siggy and Austin in. Cresswell more likely to get attacking points I'd imagine.

Trippier and Hutton for me as well. Naylor then Cresswell bench order

I hate having those strikers v defenders conflicts. There's no real good outcome - if Austin scores you lose your clean sheet, if Trippier keeps a clean sheet then you have a striker scoring a blank!

I'd pick Hutton over Trippier anyway.

I saw from some other account on twitter saying he was/is on holidays in Jamaica and isn't back yet.

Didn't really think it was anyway fact though but who knows.

Sterling -> Walcott looking better by the hour :pac:

Sterling was a big part of my WC. He was to be downgraded as soon as Aguero is back.

Now Aguero is back and Sterling is doing god only knows what in Jamaica:confused:

    How do you manage this.
    I sometimes hate this game:mad:

Gonna head toward work tomorrow with my head down. Turn off the internet and stay away from it for the rest of the day.

Tell me about I've been running options around in my head all week even considering wildcarding but think I'll just stay calm and re-assess tomorrow. If Sterling misses out then that eliminates my who to bench dilemma from my front 8. Would have preferred Kun's comeback to be delayed slightly but how and ever will see how things go with him tomorrow and if it's the right thing to do to pull the wildcard trigger that's what I'll do

Plan is to wildcard tomorrow myself, so making a transfer this week is given. Was looking at upgrading Benteke to Giroud or Falcao as a 1 week home punt before pulling the trigger but looks as though it'll be Sterling to Di Maria now.

I brought in Giroud for a one week punt a while back. Made him captain too... He got me -4...I now hate him.

I'm not too bothered really. This will be the first time the strong front 8 has been called upon since the xmas games meaning its not been a total waste.

    Downing to sub in.

Can someone help me pick a defender.
I've spent all week thinking about it and not sure who to go with.
Won't be wildcarding until the last week.
I have 2 transfers banked with a few weeks

    It's between
    Debuchy
Bertrand (I want him long term)
    Cresswell
A spurs defender (just short term for their nice fixtures but I'm unsure whos nailed on there

The price difference is considerable but I really believe that Eriksen will comfortably outscore Chadli from here on, I'm looking at both as my Sterling replacement but I'm strongly favouring Eriksen right now, I'll need to have a look at what I can do with the change before deciding.

Has to be Debuchy or Bertrand out of those options. Both have ok short term fixtures. More so Debuchy. I'd go with him and if it doesn't go well swap him out in wildcard in a few weeks for Bertrand.

So apparently the whole Sterling thing is based on this Instagram photo he posted last night from Jamaica. Which looks to me very like it's taken at an airport.

I'm beginning to think this is just twitter rumour nonsense.

Even @BenDinnery is a less definite..."Can't confirm but apparently Sterling is still on holiday ....."
